We have family in Secunda, and that is the reason we visit...
We have family in Secunda, and that is the reason we visit Secunda from Johannesburg, and we have been doing so for over 30 years. Over these years we have seen Secunda develop from just a remote town that housed the major Sasol plants to this beautiful town with beautiful malls and restaurant's.
Although, after 30 years of democracy, we still experience racism from the Caucasian residents, which is very, very disappointing, because Secunda is developing into a beautiful metropolis, but it will just become a white elephant, a "ghost" town, if the racism continues in Secunda

Secunda is a big city .
Secunda is a big city . A lot of malls and a nice waterfront with nice shops
that they are putting into place .
The restaurants are great . we eat at a few and the food was very good
We visited the brewery at the Waterfront and the beer they brew is
of a very high standard as well as their gin.
The Trichard dam is nearby for fishing
Please watch out on the main road . There are people driving very bad
and is a big risk for accidents to happen

Place was fairly okay. I was promised WiFi but I could not connect because signal strength was just too bad. They could also improve on the huge space underneath the door. The towels were all dirty. But otherwise the bed was comfortable enough.

The place is perfect and neat except that when you check out you have to vacate the premises and i hope they can at least allow people to leave the chalet or rooms but still enjoy the pool and chill zone till closing time

It was very bad.
It was very bad. I booked at Purple Heart Guest House but on arrival i was redirected to a dilapidated property that was overbooked . The rooms were untidy, the toilet was not flushing , the showers were dirty and smelly. I regret using booking.com . I stayed for only one night instead of two, i want a refund
The hostess was amazing. She was warm and welcoming, showed genuine care for her guests. I think everyone who stays there feels like family. There are electric blankets on the bed because Secunda is surprisingly cold: It was so warm and snuggly. The decor is a mix of antiques and modern convenience. You can see evidence of continuous maintenance being done: the tiles are fresh, the paint is fresh. But the room doesn't really matter: go to the kitchen, take a chair, and learn about the experience of being an Afrikaans family!
What I look for in choosing accommodation:

The accommodation had it all and more; super fast internet to stream from YouTube in 4K; kitchen with all utensils; safe driveway to park a car; friendly responsive host whenever needed; and a conducive, quite and safe neighbourhood that makes you feel like you are in a 5-Star hotel!

I travelled to Hotel @ Secunda at above mentioned dates and again 1-3 Decemeber 2021. I was booked in room 30, the room was not cleaned and not made up, empty alcjol bottel stil standing next to the toilet. They moved me to room 32, I went for supper, when I came back they moved me to room 22 because they made a mistake. They only clean the rooms when you leave, so if you stay for a week they do not clean your room unless you go and ask at reception.
The place has serene views including the river that passes by the hotel.. Zebras next door are visible from the restaurant.. the food is top class and as expected in Mpumalanga, beyond filling.. I would always come back there.. The pool is clean and has good depth for amateurs (height of at least 1.6 meters) to get to the water..
The place was amazing the staff was helpful and friendly. Even the atmosphere was friendly and cozy. Felt like home. Will use it again if we go to Secunda and will also advise people to make use of the guest house
I'm enjoying staying at this place the workers are wonderful, friendly, loving and the place feels like home, I'm still here and will continue staying here while I'm in Secunda, I'm 100% happy ❤️❤️❤️
The breakfast was great and the hotel staff was very accommodating and very friendly. my husband and I enoyed our stay and we liked the fact that everything is located within the hotel.
The staff was very helpful and made sure he shows the directions to the places around Secunda. He was also helping when we need some more information about the Kosmos race.
