It was a lovely place, perfect, quiet location, you could hear the sea. Breakfast was fantastic. Marian couldn't do enough for us during a huge storm which cut out electricity and phone signal. The beds were so comfortable and handy to have a fridge in the room. There was a kitchen and living area free for guests to use.

The location is second to none, incredible ocean and mountain vistas almost wherever you look, but what really made this experience something special are the staff, they are attentive, engaging and friendly. What really struck me about the staff is how much they actually care about your experience, always asking “can I help you with x” or “we can do y if that’s better for you” etc without skipping a beat!

The house was large and comfortable, very spacious. We felt at ease and the views were amazing from almost every angle in the house. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The bathrooms were very good with a bath and a shower. The sound of the ocean in the background of your whole day just made me feel at peace. The sunsets were spectacular to view. I would highly recommend this place for a weekend break!

We enjoyed our stay at The Ark BnB and can certainly recommend this one. The hosts Marian and Johan were so friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to meet our every need. We were royally treated like good friends. The breakfasts were substantial and absolutely delicious. The room was luxuriously fitted and extremely comfortable and stylish. They also gave suggestions as to what to do and where to visit that was helpful.
Pearly Beach itself is a pretty seaside town with lots to see and do. The long beach was clean with silky soft sand

Pearly beach is about 2 hours from Cape Town so be prepared...
Pearly beach is about 2 hours from Cape Town so be prepared to put in the kilometers. You have to drive to Gansbaai for restaurant options and most extra mural activities are in Gansbaai. If you want to cut yourself off from the city life, this is the place to go to. Just remember to make your booking arrangements early especially over the holiday and long weekend periods. The private beach is awesome.
