Jan Kempdorp was fine for a one night stop over.

Jan Kempdorp was fine for a one night stop over. We filled up with petrol and enjoyed The Border Hotel. We were shown to a magnificent suit which was much more than we expected in a small town such as Jan Kempdorp. The reason why we drove the extra miles to get to this hotel was because I had heard a radio interview by the owner and she had said that the staff had kept working WITHOUT PAYMENT during the Covid lockdown just to keep the hotel going. And without doubt it was the staff that made our stay wonderful! They set up a special table in the magnificent library just for the two of us and couldn't do enough to serve us. Thank you! We also enjoyed perusing all the old photos in the passages and read up on the history of the area, they were very interesting.
