I went there on a business trip, but loved the whole experience! The Bloemfontein community great you with a smile and are humble. The business community value your time and are grateful for the efforts put in to meet with them.
There town is rich with history and old buildings used for office space. I loved the old buildings with original oregan pine floors and pressed ceilings. The clean double roads are easy to navigate.
What started as a normal business trip ended with me feeling energetic and humbled by the experience as a whole. I'll be back Bloemfontein!

We were pleasantly surprised by Bloemfontein.
We were pleasantly surprised by Bloemfontein. It is clean and neat. The Botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful. Extremely well cared for - definitely worth a visit. Oliewenhuis art museum is free (R10 parking fee only) and lovely for a visit and a picnic in the grounds.
Nice restaurants; good malls; traffic not too bad at the time we visited.
I'd recommend Haru Sushi restaurant.
Tempe golf club at the Tempe Military Base (open to the public) was an unexpected find - cheap round of golf on a nice course.
Disappointed that the planetarium visitors centre doesn't seem to be open, most days of the week; it only opens for special viewings.
Naval Hill worth a visit - friendly ostriches and beautiful views.

I lived in Bloem for 9 years, it was great in the 90's.

Unfortunately, the city has deteriorated massively.
I would not go to Bloemfontein for leisure or tourism.
It is central to stop on the way to/from somewhere or if you have some work / business / family-event to attend to.
Great place to shoot a dystopic movie seen!

I love the city and especially the fabulous friends and family who live in Bloem - not exactly a holiday destination but defnitely the place to visit for cricket or rugby games.
Traveling around is easy and getting to Bloem is very easy on the highway
We were pleasantly surprised on arrival with a pristine clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage. The Hosts have gone above and beyond expectation to provide all the small comforts one would expect at home. It is the small touches that warm the heart. The Cherry on Top was a well-marked cupboard that contained towels, food bowls and a selection of toys for our little furball, much to his delight. Mossie-nes will definitely see us again should we visit Bloemfontein.
We booked the family room, it was clean, beautiful, with comfortable beds. If you have been booking places in Bloemfontein for overnight stay, I can tell you no other guest house compares to this place. Everything inside this guest house is new and modern. The open plan kitchen, dining area, braai area, bedroom, parking area, bathroom, are beautifully designed and specious. You will definitely not be disappointed if you book this place I highly recommend it.
We loved the whole experience! The staff were super-friendly and the breakfast was to die for! The room blew our minds away; we ended up not going anywhere we had planned to go because we just wanted to admire the room! My partner and I have named this hotel our second home because we decided that we'll always book every time we need to be in Bloemfontein.
Breakfast was wonderful, we all enjoyed it. And the hotel is more beautiful than it seems when approaching from the street. The water fountain inside is eye catching, it really gives the place a luxurious feel and look. The rooms are big, the beds are modern and very comfortable.
the breakfast was amazing, and staff were very understanding when I told them to package my breakfast as take ways. location was easily accessible as it was my first-time in Bloemfontein. I did not struggle with gate to get in guest house or stay long outside when I arrived.
It was our second time staying at Stonehill Villa and will never stay at any other place in Bloemfontein. The rooms are nice and spacious, with self catering facilities. The hostess that welcomed us and the morning staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
When we came to the hotel at 1.30am after long car trip, we couldn’t check-in in case of downshift system of manager. we had to wait about 15 mins — so terrible
In all of 3 rooms were dirty glasses and dirty towels
Located on a farm outside Bloemfontein. Arrived a bit late, but was still greeted and welcomed personally. Beautiful property with 3 bedrooms and great facilities - including 2 lounges and fully equipped kitchen.
Excellent accommodation in a very interesting setting. I especially liked being so close to Bloemfontein but in a rural area. All staff were very nice and Jacques was especially helpful. Thanks!
