I went there on a business trip, but loved the whole experience! The Bloemfontein community great you with a smile and are humble. The business community value your time and are grateful for the efforts put in to meet with them.
There town is rich with history and old buildings used for office space. I loved the old buildings with original oregan pine floors and pressed ceilings. The clean double roads are easy to navigate.
What started as a normal business trip ended with me feeling energetic and humbled by the experience as a whole. I'll be back Bloemfontein!

We were pleasantly surprised by Bloemfontein.
We were pleasantly surprised by Bloemfontein. It is clean and neat. The Botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful. Extremely well cared for - definitely worth a visit. Oliewenhuis art museum is free (R10 parking fee only) and lovely for a visit and a picnic in the grounds.
Nice restaurants; good malls; traffic not too bad at the time we visited.
I'd recommend Haru Sushi restaurant.
Tempe golf club at the Tempe Military Base (open to the public) was an unexpected find - cheap round of golf on a nice course.
Disappointed that the planetarium visitors centre doesn't seem to be open, most days of the week; it only opens for special viewings.
Naval Hill worth a visit - friendly ostriches and beautiful views.

I lived in Bloem for 9 years, it was great in the 90's.
I lived in Bloem for 9 years, it was great in the 90's.
Unfortunately, the city has deteriorated massively.
I would not go to Bloemfontein for leisure or tourism.
It is central to stop on the way to/from somewhere or if you have some work / business / family-event to attend to.
Great place to shoot a dystopic movie seen!

I love the city and especially the fabulous friends and family who live in Bloem - not exactly a holiday destination but defnitely the place to visit for cricket or rugby games.
Traveling around is easy and getting to Bloem is very easy on the highway
What a lovely overnight stay. Though it isn’t set up as self catering, the mini kitchen is so comfortable and there is outside braai facility so it is possible to stay longer.
We were thoroughly impressed by how fresh, stylish, clean and neat everything was. The beds all
had lovely crisp linen and were sooo comfortable that we slept in. The bathroom was clean and a pleasure to use. Debbie was so warm and welcoming and kept in touch, check in was a breeze. This is a definite stop over spot for us when we’re staying in Bloem.
What a stunning guest house where everything, from the peaceful and amazing setting to the tiny detail (like a Nespresso machine in the room) exceeded my expectations. Melani is the most welcoming and friendliest host that walks the extra mile for her guests. It is like staying in paradise. You will not leave untouched by this unforgettable experience. I can't wait for my next visit and will most definitely recommend staying at La Belle guesthouse on your next visit to Bloemfontein.
Often use Bloemfontein as a stopover. Pleasant surprise to find this guesthouse! Rooms exceptionally clean, towels and bedding similar to a four star hotel, lovely breakfast, secure parking, good location and all at a very reasonable price! Modern finishes with electrical points for phone chargers in the headboards (no crawling behind cupboards and fridges to get your phone charged!) Room was cozy and comfortable despite minimum temperature of -7 C!
Excellent guest house with very good facilities. Just the thing for an overnight stay en route to our final holiday destination. Nicely sized rooms and I love the coffee plungers in the room which makes for a great change from the instant coffee normally on offer in guest houses! I have returned here several times, and I have booked my family again for the return trip. I see no need to go anywhere else in Bloemfontein.
Technically I cannot rate the property, but can rate the host ... there were issues with the aircon (which we do appreciate can happen), and not having another room available, arrange for us to move to another guest house without any qualms. Tiaan managed everything with a quiet professionalism, resulting in a very amiable stay in Bloemfontein.
It was our second time staying at Stonehill Villa and will never stay at any other place in Bloemfontein. The rooms are nice and spacious, with self catering facilities. The hostess that welcomed us and the morning staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
We got a friendly welcome at the guesthouse when we arrived. The rooms are very spacious and had all the amenities you would require. Had a very pleasant experience. The guesthouse is located close to restaurants and shops in Bloemfontein.
Comfortable guest house, great location in central Mangaung/Bloemfontein which is walking distance to the University and the Mall. Was comfy enough after a long drive, and there's a lovely garden with a pool.
This is our favorite place to stay when we travel to Bloemfontein as good value for the money, great accommodation and service and a nice separate area for watching TV or you can watch from bed.
The hotel is very well situated within Bloemfontein and has private access to the adjacent mall. The beautiful inner garden and pool area creates a relaxing area to swim, sunbathe and relax.
Did not have breakfast. Location is excellent, outside Bloemfontein next to the N1, just great. friendly staff welcoming us. Clean and comfortable accommodation.
