Ruslan, who organized the stay for us, is very helpful in all possible aspects. He organized the transport from Bukhara and the next day to Samarkand for a more then competable price. We were welcomed at his family place in Nurota for a very delicious lunch. Then a driver took us to Alexander the Great’s fortress ruins for a walk, afterwards to their private place at the Aydar lake to swim. Later we arrived at Kyzylkum Desert where we were welcomed to the Yurt camp.
We learned how the traditional bread is baked, had a camel ride, admired the landscape and sunset. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner with the family. At the camp fire we could admire the stars.
Ruslan is perfectly caring for every aspect of your stay and makes it easy to be able to just enjoy and be fascinated. Everything is very personal and his aim is to meet everyones needs, the tourist ones as well as the host family, drivers, nature.
Ruslan speaks very good English, with the family we used a mixture of English, some Russian words and the help of google translate :)
A very excptional ecperience!

Absolutely gorgeous location and very unique experience. Enjoyed the traditional dinner (which cost $15pp) and seeing the sunset over the desert. We organised a transfer through Ruslan and our driver on the way to the yurt camp was excellent - very safe and stopped multiple times to show us interesting sites, including a tiny Kazakh village in the middle of the desert. We also had the opportunity to visit the nearby lake the next morning (included in the transfer price) which was so beautiful.

Nice breakfast. The other meals were fine as well. Guides take you into the mountains. The host plays music for you. Komil's place is actually two houses, one of Komil and one of his brother, and they both rent out a number of their rooms. There are two sanitary blocks with clean toilets and showers. Beds are hard, as most beds in Uzbekistan. The family is very modest, friendly and hospitable. Komil has been a teacher of music. His son is a driver and a mountain guide. The drive from Samarkand takes about 4 hours and costs around 250 dollars for a party of 10.
Great place just to walk around. The fort had great views and the religious complex was good too. The surrounding mountains are great for all levels of walking. Heads up to booking .com This Nurota is in Uzbekistan not south America so the questions below cannot be answered there are no Incan ruins or rainforest here nor beaches.
