The location of the hotel was fantastic, right next to the Orthodox Church, the park, and only 20km a walk from Registan Square. Getting around Samarkand on foot is easy, even in hot weather! The restaurant (Istanbul) does excellent kebabs and coffee, and was very much appreciated by me after a long hot drive from Tashkent. The staff were also brilliant. I had a problem with the air conditioner (which turned out to be broken) on my first night. The staff kindly gave me a room upgrade as a result, and as a result I slept better, and felt great. Breakfast was great too - the spread is very large, well-prepared and tasty. There’s free water available as well, a blessing in temperatures of 40 Celsius and over.

The location is quite convenient, there are shops and cafes nearby. The walk to Registon takes in other sights along the way. The staff is very responsive. The room is cleaned every day, and not on request, as in some others. They gave free lemon tea and national sweets. They helped us a lot by finding us a car to get around the city.
