Upward is a great friendly town .
Upward is a great friendly town . It is near tons of shopping, restaurants, aquarium, and zoo, which were all just beautiful to visit and eat at. We especially loved the little town and the lodge on McMurray Road was beautiful and I had so much to offer there also. The lodge that we stayed at was very close to Pretty Place, Chapel in Cleveland South Carolina, which was breathtaking. We recommend anyone to go to upward North Carolina.

Everything!!!!!! The staff were friendly and attentive. The environment and grounds were beautiful. The hotel was rustic and cozy. The hotel in entirety was spotlessly clean. The beds were amazingly comfortable. Having the kitchenette was handy and saved us quite a bit on our budget to cook and eat in our room. The heated pool was amazing and relaxing. My son has autism and he was ecstatic over swimming in the dark with just the light of the pool. I will definitely stay here again and again when traveling through.
This hotel is simply AMAZING! You walk in the front doors and feel like your at home with family. The staff legitimately cares about their customers. The house keeping staff are incredible, rooms perfectly cleaned daily.
The pool is warm and the bonfire was the perfect ending to a great race weekend!

I had high expectations...and they were met! Super clean. Our studio room had an entire kitchen in it! Beds were super comfy and we didn't hear a sound all night. We slept like logs. If you're traveling Interstate 26, the hotel is just one minute (or less) from 26 with a Waffle House and ABC store next door. If you stay here, don't miss Jump Off Rock...a lovely place to watch the sunset and relax after your drive.
What a gem! The nicest and cheapest hotel on our road trip through five states. Cozy and clean. It has everything you need including a great atmosphere. The extremely welcoming staff went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. Great location to explore the outdoors. Just loved it here!
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The large fridge was a welcome quality when used to small or no fridges in other hotels. So many day trips available from chimney rock/lake lure to gorges state park, pisgah, and DuPont forest as just a few.
Best hotel! Very comfortable, quiet and clean! Staff were exceptional! Breakfast was hot and had many nice selections. Beautiful courtyard with a nice waterfall and fire pit. Will definitely stay there again if we’re ever back in the area!
