The staff were excellent. Very friendly and efficient.
Breakfasts were pretty good too.
Staff were constantly cleaning the communal areas. The room was a generous size . Beds were comfortable.

Always enjoy it but its so far away its not a frequent trip for us. Only every several years we get to go. It's always lovely (accept when there is tar balls on the beach which is the worst experience ever IMHO). Fishing was good, food was outstanding! Highly recommend Josephine's for Breakfast! Our favorite spots for dining are Cafe on the Beach behind "The Palms Resort" and Blackbeards!

Nothing regarding this trip or location was enjoyable. The Bay Inn employees a bait and switch. Using photos that do not accurately depict the property. The photos show a kitchenette and an apartment sized refrigerator. The refrigerator was slightly larger than the ones found inside a hotel room. There wasn’t a single pot, pan, dish, glass, cup, cutlery in sight. The cabinets were in disrepair. Missing the facia allowing raw particle board to be exposed. Due to the extreme amount of moisture inside of every room. There is the potential for mold and mildew. Possibly creating a real health risk. Back to the sofa that had visible human secretion stains in addition to who knows what. I would not book this place in the future under any circumstances. I plan on reporting this property to the Texas Department of Health Services for possible health and safety violations.

My wife and I loved our short getaway to South Padre Island. We have family friends here in the Houston area that have recommended us to visit for years, and we finally listened. We are so glad we did. After years of just visiting nearby Galveston Island, we were ready for a better beach in Texas. We definitely found a new spot for a great beach!
Some of our favorite spots on the island were Karma Coffee, Yummies Bistro, Lobo Del Mar, Sea Ranch, and Isla Tours (Dolphin Cruise... A MUST!!!)
Getting around the island was a piece of cake.

Fun place with amazing beaches for Texas! Lots of sunshine! Beautiful turquoise waters, great sandy beaches and lots of fun bars and restaurants on the beach and on the main drag. Hotel options are pretty endless with beach access, great outdoor pools and amenities. Pick careful because some of the Hotels are in need of TLC!

This was our 2nd visit.
This was our 2nd visit. We also went four years ago, but a couple of weeks earlier (mid-Jan instead of early Feb). We live in MN and like the warmer temps for a winter break. We did many of the same things we did in our last visit - sunrise walks on the beach, beach combing, Turtle Inc, Bird & Reptile Sanctuary, great meals in the restaurants, sunsets on the lagoon, shopping. We also enjoyed the park on the south end of the island and went on the dolphin watch tour (Original Dolphin Watch and ECO tour). Both were very enjoyable. It's fairly quiet on the island in Jan & Feb before spring break and hotels are more affordable. Temps are great for upper midwesterners.

We visit S Padre Island every year and totally enjoy the area. You can visit the turtle rescue and bird sanctuary. See dolphins by the fishing pier and walk the beach as far as you want to. Dog friendly beach and motel.

This hotel was so well designed!. It had INSTANT hot water (no waiting for the shower); Each room had its own central air conditioning/heating. Almost noiseless. Total control for each room; There was no waiting for the elevators, ever. They had intelligent parking dependent on time of day. The pool was a small bijou job. Bridges with waterfalls to swim under, island to lounge on: The hotel was full of architectural and design surprises. Great Facilities. And they upgraded us to a top floor junior suite- wonderful.
My husband and I spent our 14th marriage anniversary on South padre island and Alicia went above and beyond, she upgraded our room to make our trip extra special!! We have no complaints about our hotel. Check in was seamless, suite was spacious and comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. We'll definitely stay here again and next time we're bringing the kids to enjoy with us.🥰
Wonderful location on the beach. Loved that we were not cramped in between all the other hotels as they are located at the end before the reserve. Very family friendly place to stay. Ocean and bay view from hotel room. The building was keep very clean, witch can't be easy with everyone come in from the beach all day and night. Room was clean and spacious. Will be going back next year.
I loved the pool area, even though the water was cold I still got to chill with my family. It's not beach access/beach view but it is still in the center of everything so my family and I were able to easily access the beach on one end of the island and the dolphin watch and sea ranch on the other. But the hotel itself was cheap and luxurious.
Hotel location is good there´s a convinience store across the street. Employees at the Hotel are friendly and willing to help. The pool and whirpool temperature was great, most of the week it was only my kids and myself by the pool.
Really enjoyed the view of the pool and water. Our room was nice. Had a Great Breakfast. The omelettes and breakfast tacos were great. Liked the fact that there was a shop, coffee shop and restaurant in hotel. Great location.
It’s an old hotel, the bathrooms were very small and needs to be upgraded. I was under the impression all rooms were ocean view. They were not. Food service was terrible. I will never book again.
The breakfast was the bomb. The staff were very friendly and cheery. The room cleanliness were spot on. I mean everything. So far my family said this is the best hotel on island so far.
The employees were super nice. The man that checked us in was really helpful! So was the employee helping us at breakfast. Definitely our go to hotel when we stay in south padre island.
YOUR APP SAID THAT THIS WAS A 4 STAR HOTEL. THIS WAS NOT. MORE LIKE A 2 STAR. ROOM AND FACILITIES WERE AT LEAST 15 YEARS SINCE THE LAST RENOVATION. DISCUSTING.
