Basecamp South Tahoe is a nice place where we spent two days. The necessary equipment was available on site. We were welcomed without any problems. Early check-out was also possible. It was clean and spacious, the room had a large balcony. There is a bar with a garden on the hotel grounds. It is a very atmospheric place, I recommend it to everyone. On the day of our arrival there was live music. There were plenty of parking spaces.

Superb location right next to the cable car up the mountain to the ski resort, the hotel is like a square block and has shops, bars, restaurants, Starbucks all connected to it on the lower level and access from the pool area. Great size room and have to mention the laundry services, 1st time I've (the man lol) done a washing on holiday, on our floor 2 commercial washing machines and 2 commercial dryers all free, as we were on a motor biking holiday for 2 weeks there was the risk of a pong from our luggage I did a wash, stuck in the machine set for 45 mins and went for a beer, went back removed and stuck in the drier for 40 mins went back and had another beer, returned and stuck in our room 3 doors away, job done lol

The location itself is not exactly picturesque, but the "inn" is very close to Lake Tahoe, so it depends on what you are looking for! The room is equipped with a small microwave and a coffee machine - both were clean (surprisingly considering the room itself!).

We had a great stay here. It’s large hotel but didn’t seem busy during our stay. Room large and very nicely appointed. Slept well, air con good, Breakfast was complimentary and more than adequate. We don’t use the pool or outdoor area. Walkable to a few local eateries if you don’t mind a ten min stroll - we liked Applebee’s and also the Heavenly leisure area - particularly Base Camp Pizza

South Lake Tahoe is very pretty with lots to do such as bike Rentals and lots of Places to rent Kayaks and SUP's and boats, even Horseback riding but for us it was much too crowded with lots of stopped Traffic especially as you get close to the Casinos. It is a fun place for kids and Adults but for Us we prefer Tahoe City and Incline Village as they are more Relaxing places and the focus is on nature and not nearly as much traffic or road construction

I love it! It was a great balance between nature, relaxation, and nice activities in the city like restaurants, walks, and more.
Love that it is on the state line to Nevada and going to the casinos for entertainment and restaurants (Not a gambler) was a nice activity to do during the nights.

From rock jumping, hiking, nature to what man made amenities from Tipsy Putt, great pizza and restaurants to amazing coffee. Just bring your American Express Black card because life up here is more then where your from, trust lol

Lake Tahoe is beautiful year round. Weather this June was just over 80 degrees daytime and maybe 59 degrees night. We were fortunate that it was also not windy. There are many beaches that one can visit along with many available hikes of all levels. The only unfortunate thing is easily accessed beaches do get crowded on nice days. Also many places are now charging for parking. Lake is not as clear as it was 20 years ago but is still pretty clear. Great cost effective place to eat is Maya's Mexican Grill on Lake Tahoe Blvd. I would rather have been camping away from the city but staying on the lake side of Lake Tahoe Blvd was pleasant and we really didn't need to drive to get around as beaches, casinos, good restaurants, stores were all within 1 mile of the place we stayed on Friday Avenue.

South Lake Tahoe is a beautiful and serene place away from it all. There are so many things to do behind hiking, going to the lake and visiting the casinos. The air alone feels better than being in any city. Take a ride in the Heavenly Gondola for a spectacular view of this beautiful place. It also has amazing golf courses. But, if you just want a quiet getaway, stay at Black Bear Lodge. Restaurants and a coffee house within a 5 minute walk and 30 minutes to casinos if that’s what you’re looking for.
