Downtown food scene. very expensive. Ate cheetos one night. Parking daily was expensive. had to figure out most things by myself. They kept putting BooKing down. very bad front desk. Two coffee pods in 4 days despite calls. NEVER stay there again. No help w anything. Not medical-centric. I struggled a lot. Asked for a little help. NOT avail I was told.

Rochester is arguably the most important medical city in the US if not the world. People come from all over the world for treatments at the facilities in Rochester. It is a melting pot on any given day. It is a small city but has everything anyone needs, all within an enclosed subway and skyway system so the weather does not affect movement around the downtown area.

We had stayed at another hotel a block from Mayo on our first visit. it was more that twice as expensive and offered nothing that was advertised on its website. Our stay was awful. So we opted for the Country Inn and Suites on our second and week long stay. We were pleasantly surprised. it was delightful, clean, easy parking, decent breakfast and a staff that went out of its way to be helpful. So we are getting ready for a return trip to Mayo and will definitely book the Country Inn and Suites again.

Our room was large, and the bed was decent. It wasn't super cozy, but we did sleep ok. It's close to the Mayo and other downtown areas. The Subway walk to the Mayo was super handy. The Galleria, through the subway walk, was beautiful and full of restaurants and stores. The hotel breakfast was deliciously hot, and the sweet server was exceptional. Valet parking was handy, and our driver to the Mayo was incredibly gracious by getting our doors for us and had great conversation as well.

It was so comfortable and cozy and we had a patio to sit on although it rained a lot. This accomodations is the best one for Mayo Clinic that I could imagine. The HOTELS elevator took us directly to the heart of Mayo Clinic which is the socalled subway ( no trains, just a beautiful area to walk EVERYWHERE ). THE folks at the desk had everything you needed or could tell you where to get it. The parking was right there. I will stay here again next time I come to Mayo Clinic.
