The hotel consists of actually 2 buildings, the main and a side building. We had a room in the side building and the door codes were provided with the reservation email. This did not work as staff did not update the door code but was quickly resolved. The hotel includes a good restaurant which was popular with locals, and the location is good with a bridge and shopping street on walking distance.

We only had a couple of nights to stay but we are so glad we chose Gingershack Farms. Excellent hosts - they are very welcoming, thoughtful, and friendly. Beautiful grounds and accommodations. Easy access with no steep or windy roads. The cabin was larger than I had visualized, exceptionally clean, very nicely decorated, and quite comfortable. The primary bed was outstanding and the bunk beds are sturdy, also with great mattresses. The linens were soft, yet crisp and cool. ATT cell phone service is spotty (you're in the mountains) but the wifi was excellent. We enabled wifi calling and had no problems. Having 5 separate cabins available, this is also the ideal location for a group trip if you are looking for a little more privacy. I personally like the idea of everyone having their own space to retire to.
We look forward to returning with friends and family in the near future!

Breakfast was very good every morning. The cook very friendly. The property and surrounding area, I wish we had more time to explore. Our cabin was very comfortable, the fireplace and jacuzzi combo were exactly what we were looking for. The highlight was the horseback riding around the resort.

One of the beds had dirty sheets - possibly because previous guest didn’t strip the bed, so housekeeping staff should check all beds regardless of whether or not sheets were taken off.
Porches were dusty, but to be expected due to woods and pollen.
Everything else was great and we loved Big Canoe and all the property amenities especially the hiking trails.

This was a family trip to Big Canoe to enjoy the golf course and lake activities. The adults down to the two year old had so much fun at the pool/lake/rock slide. We left wanting more, but looking forward to returning next summer for a longer visit. It was like camp for the whole family, but without having to make the friendship bracelet!
