Small town but friendly people any place we stopped - Woodlands, Rolling Fatties - burritos...LOL, Sugarloaf - Widow Maker - fantastic view & band & The Bag had yummy food & great bartender - Sue. We also enjoyed snowshoeing and scenery at the Sugarloaf sports center. We loved the décor of the inn and the staff/owner. Breakfast was made to order and delish. We love the lounge/tavern area...nice fireplace, variety of books, cribbage and plenty of things to see on the walls & huge window in back of the bar brought in lots of light and wintery scene.

The grounds are beautiful. The proprietor(s) are extremely accommodating and personable. The dinner is *well worth the expense. The hotel—and the town —is a hidden gem in western Maine. (A state I incidentally grew up in and never heard of Kingfield). We rolled up on the place, road weary and parched, to find hosts willing to help us feel at home.
