Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites, hotel in Honolulu

Situated in the Waikiki district in Honolulu, 300 metres from Waikiki Beach Area, Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites features air-conditioned rooms.

Location was great: just a few minutes walk from the beach and there's a supermarket/cafe/restaurant across the road. We were just there for a short stay and this place served us well for somewhere to rest our heads. However it is very dated (reflected in the price so it's fine) so I wouldn't book it if you're looking for anything more than that. The bathroom and beds were very well cleaned, but we didn't use the kitchenette and given the age of the place, it doesn't have a super clean feel to it in general. Lovely lady helping you book tours and giving you insider tips in the lobby.

Well what can I say! Great hotel for not only the value but you have the beach on your doorstep! Loved our view and our room. The water bottles you get are amazing and so cute. If you’re having a beach day need to take full advantage of surf candy for your little bits. Staff didn’t really get involved because everything was perfect.

FAQs about hotels in Honolulu

A True Water Sports Paradise

Standing proudly on the island of Oahu in the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu is the Hawaiian capital, meaning "a sheltered bay." Spreading along the white sandy beaches and supported by the strong back of the volcanic mountains, it's a real island paradise.

Honolulu's most popular and famous district, Waikiki, features the stunning Waikiki Beach decorated with hundreds of surfboards, palms and lounge chairs. It’s also a center for the city’s nightlife and shopping, especially along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues.

As the most popular activities in Honolulu include surfing, snorkeling, canoeing and other water sports, it's no surprise the city has a number of sandy beaches. Try Hanauma Bay, a crescent-shaped beach with rolling, green hills behind it.

For fans of hiking and exploring, nature awaits at Diamond Head Mountain, a volcanic tuff cone where you can admire the panoramic view of the city. There is also the Bishop Museum with the world’s largest collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts and the Waikiki Aquarium with over 490 species of marine fauna and flora.

From hotels near Honolulu International Airport to hotels near the beach, Booking.com has plenty of properties, from cheap to luxury, for your Honolulu trip.

We spend four days on the west side, four on the north and four on this south part of O´ahu, Kahala, from where you can reach Honolulu within a 15min drive. When on vacation I prefer the less busy hotels and drive to the activities, like Honolulu. If you want to be in the middle of it, like Waikiki, then you should book right there. Just keep in mind, always sounds, people, etc. 24/7

It was very busy, as you would expect for a major tourist area. The hotels are on top of each other so pick carefully. The hop on hop off bus is a good way to see quite a bit and to help get your bearings. Shopping was total high end shops, with prices to match. A visit to the USS Arizona memorial is a must, it does make you wonder why the US put most of their battleships in one small harbour. Lots of restaurants but they don't really cater for vegetarians, other than salad or veggie burger. Basically, expect to pay a minimum of double and upwards, for what we pay here in UK on everything. I would suggest 3 days in Honolulu and then head to either another part of Oahu or Kanui which is quieter and really beautiful

The weather and the kindness of the locals can't be beat.

The weather and the kindness of the locals can't be beat. The city was well laid out with retail shopping very close to the resorts as well as the beach. The cost for most things is high but you should expect that from a tourist area with the best weather, high demand, limited land area to build upon, and where most things need to be imported to sustain life.

Stayed in Waikiki - very touristy, very commercialized, very expensive. If you love to shop you will love Waikiki . Everything is open till late and people are everywhere. Beautiful beaches and great nightlife. Would recommend grabbing an all day buss pass US$8.00 - they run great services frequently and it is an fun way to get out and about in your own time. We also stayed on the big island in Hilo - much more laid back much more island style and the locals are absolutely beautiful people. So welcoming and helpful. If we were to return we would take more time in HIlo and similar towns and less in Waikiki.

The polynesian cultural centre is a long day out but well worth visiting. Luau and concert were highlights. Groups of 15 are toured with your own knowledgable guide. Good concept and value add. We also went to north shore and dole plantation as a driving day trip. If you do the plantation I'd suggest to just do the pineapple express train and you'll see all you need but worth doing. If you are short on time but want to see some great views and action go to China Walls just out of Honolulu (other side of diamond head) and watch the surfers ride some waves.

Clean and comfortable hotel in the center of Waikiki, Honolulu. The main street of Waikiki is about 1 minute, Waikiki Beach is about a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple (continental), but sufficient. We were given a room with a higher level of comfort without extra charge. Towels for the beach are available for free. There is a dedicated smoking area in the little garden of the hotel. A little pool, sunbeds and hanging chairs for relaxing are also available. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Romer - it is as simple as that<3 We felt really welcomed, the room was new, fresh & clean and it smelt so nicely. Style & interior design of the hotel is absolutely outstanding. Staff took good care of us, we also had a few delicious dinners at the restaurant. It is a must! Curry yakisoba was our favorite. All in all, our stay at Romer Waikiki house will become a nice memory from honeymoon in Hawaii.
