nice work space, comfortable bed and friendly staff.
We went for the Tulip Festival. We were very disappointed that the tulips were already done blooming, but we still had fun. The parade was amazing. Downtown Holland is beautiful. The people we spoke to were inviting and very helpful.

Lovely downtown during springtime.
Lovely downtown during springtime. Beautiful Centennial Park. Great restaurants and places to enjoy a cup of coffee. Lots to do and see in the area.
The only negative thing was the construction in and around town.

Property is adequate for the rate.
Property is adequate for the rate. It could use an upgrade, but mostly staff could use training in customer service. Front desk staff was standing around - there was no hot coffee, staff not helpful with local directions etc

Next time we will try to make it to a beach.
Next time we will try to make it to a beach. We did eat a meal at Sandy Point Beach House which is a short drive from Holland, located in West Olive. Funky, local beachy ambiance, extremely casual with great food. We also enjoyed eating at Butch's Dry Dock. Terrific place! The scenery is very nice. We also enjoyed Boatwerks which is in a marina style location with great facilities and large outside eating areas. Food and service are excellent. The Windmill Island is not to be missed with a full-size, working windmill on the property. Beautiful flowers and plants. Worth the $12 adult admission, kids are free. Downtown, including the historic area, are great with shops, restaurants and bars. This is a very relaxed, informal area with very friendly, helpful people. Next time we will include visits to Nelis' Dutch Village and also the Farmers' Market...

We liked the access to the lake and the beaches.
We liked the access to the lake and the beaches. Recommend Boatwerks Restaurant on the water; great atmosphere, great food, prices similar to any other place you might go to.
We found the downtown historic part of Holland a little difficult to access. Didn't see any 'tourist bureau' and no good map of the area at the hotel or the few other places we checked. We purposely didn't go during the Tulip Festival but enjoyed seeing the tulip 'stalks' in neighborhoods.

The town of Holland is AMAZING!
The town of Holland is AMAZING! I've never seen a cleaner town or city! There was no garbage or junk in anyone's yards, even when phone gps took us to the suburbs. There's LOTS of trees throughout the city. Northeast Veldheer Tulip Garden has twice the tulips as the city's Windmill Island Gardens, we're told, so we chose their $15 instead of the other $12. We arrived the Thursday of Tulip Time's week, which a few days later for their prime 2023 tulips. We headed to downtown and unknowingly got stuck in the children's parade traffic for an hour. There were lots of helpful police directing intersections, however downtown traffic was still slow. The next day, downtown Washington Street and 12 Streets were VERY enjoyable with double tulips galore. Centennial and Kollen Parks are lovely as any waterways around. The business and residential buildings are so amazing, including a college! We're told the city was re-structured in the late 80's. Even the sidewalks and streets have hot water underneath for melting snow and ice in the winter! First time I've heard of this. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing and shopping in the Seedlings' gift shop, I believe on north River Ave. The second day, we also went to Lake Michigan via the northern route of Lake Macatawa, within 15 minutes' drive. Then we ventured back to Holland and south to Saugatuck, Douglas and South Haven. The apple and cherry tree blossoms were in their prime May 11th, along with lilacs half open; and cherries are popular in South Haven and peaches in Grand Haven, I believe. Holland would be a great city/town to live in, and it's understandable why many are moving there. Get a local map before going and ask advice before diving in like we did. :)
I was pleasantly surprised with brightness and cleanliness of the room. We felt that we were in a safe area.
My husband and I stayed in the accessibility room 133. I liked the nightlights on each light switch.
We also liked the hot breakfast provided. Biscuits and gravy. If I were to eat them again, I think I might micro the biscuits
first. They also had a pancake machine, sausage/egg/cheese bagels, usual carbs, cereals, oatmeal, juices and coffee.
We had a quiet,, restful night.
We would recommend this hotel.
This hotel is pet friendly. You will actually see many dogs. The location was very close to the Holland aquatic center. Not necessarily the best part of town but close to the Holland aquatic center. The breakfast was in a bag due to Covid. The staff was super helpful. The rooms were pretty outdated but the beds were big and comfortable. We had a mini fridge and microwave which we used most of the time. Honestly it was a bargain, just not in the best part of town. We had to drive to get good food etc.
Your staff was exceptional. April & Jess were friendly, personable & very professional. They assisted us with local information to include restaurants & Holland tourist venues for the Tulip Days. I can’t say enough about how these two gals made our stay so much more than we expected. Thank them again for us. The hotel location was great. The room was very comfortable & very clean. I would recommend this hotel to friends & would use it again in future visits to Holland.
Location, cleanliness, owners, breakfast.
We had everything we needed and more. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the owners, their journey to Holland and the history behind the house.
She is a wonderful cook and will spoil you by caring for the smallest detail.
Thank you so much for the way that you two care for your guests.
Breakfast was ok except the hot items were luke warm at best, have stayed at other Holliday Inn Expresses that had better breakfasts. this would not stop us from staying there in the future. We have traveled a lot and this would not prevent us from staying there again. It was one of the best Hotel stays we have ever had.
Great accomodation. We did a road trip in Michigan and this was one of the best property. Nice room with facilities and really great breakfast included (waffles, eggs) Nice base for visit to Holland or passing through on a road trip. Checking in and out was easy. Would certainly stay here again.
With COVID I was weary of travelling, but my kids and I needed a trip away. The hotel was so clean and special steps were in place to keep us safe. I have already booked our stay with them for next year and I look forward to staying there again.
We have have stayed at this property several times while visiting Holland when it was called City Flats. Now that it is run by Hilton it has maintained the same excellent quality. Friendly staff, beautiful facility and convenient location.
I had breakfast off-site each morning. The hotel's breakfast offerings seemed pretty meager and so I chose to experience more of the local color of Holland, MI for breakfast. All within a 2-3 minute walk of the hotel.
Location was excellent
The size and comfort of the room was first class….bonus was a small balcony
Holland is a beautiful town and has lovely bars and restaurants also very safe to walkabout at night.
We really enjoyed our stay great breakfast, a very roomy room, staff was great especially the maintenance man who help us get rid of some cold drafts, we would recommend this hotel.
I booked this hotel for a friend and called the property the name of the person staying. She had a difficulty checking in even though I called the front desk prio and paid in full.
The location had a lot of good options and close to downtown Holland. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep.
We visited Holland Michigan to attend the Tulip Festival. The hotel was great. Loved the free breakfast-it had a great selection and was very clean and well stocked.
