The location of the site was fantastic. I expected more for a corner king-size room, but the room was similar to others, and I didn't see any difference. The pool is really tiny and it's only suitable for children. the noise level around the pool should be reduced on weekends.

This hotel is old, while the lobby looks nice, the rest of the hotel is very dated. Carpet stinks smells old and musty. When my daughter and I arrived the front desk advised that the pool was closed at the water was too hot. Yet as we walked by the pool, people were in the pool. We went up to our room and noticed the curtains were moving, I pulled the current back to notice that the window was open. I closed the window but the locks were broken and couldn't lock the window. I called the front desk and asked if he could change our room. (second floor close to ground, no way I was staying in that room) he states that he wasn't sure if he had any one rooms. the hotel was a ghost town and felt very creepy. He found us another room, this widow opens put one of the locks did work. View open to a court yard, the other side of the hotel had not curtains and you could see the rooms were being used as storage. overall would not recommend and hotel did not feel safe.

The hotel had a lot of possibilities.
The hotel had a lot of possibilities. Charged $15 for taxes originally said it included breakfast continental breakfast when we got there. They said that was nine dollars extra. Believe me nine dollars for a cold breakfast that you get it. Most hotels for free is not worth it. The carpeting throughout the hotel needs to be replaced. The toilets are not handicapped size which made it very difficult for someone that’s had knee replacement to use them.

I rented a 2 bedroom house.
I rented a 2 bedroom house. When I when to the door the code did not work went back to car. Looking for email with this information, found email an hour prior to arrival time stating we might have another guest they rented the other room and hot tub was not working. Such a bad neighborhood I will not get out of the car again, we never went inside or stayed here. One of the room was rented to someone else. I would never allow my daughter to stay in house with stranger, reached out to person in charge she stated she could not cancel reservation for me it would look bad on her and that I need to. She also offered another location 2 miles away for an upcharge, of course I declined. I should have gotten a report for local sex offenders in the area, not sure but I believe several neighbors were drug dealer, saw a working girl standing on a corner. They request all dishes be put in dishwasher and turned on, strip all beds of linen, bathroom of towels and clean up after yourself what is $60 cleaning fee for if I'm am the houskeeper. Parking was on the street which was on outlet. When I dove Dow the street I could barely weave between the cars to get to the location, not enough parking for two car. In the event of emergency non was getting in or out quickly. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM THE BEGINNG, I was able to find a very nice hotel in a good area, lots of easy access parking for both of cars, no housekeeping duties required and an amazing breafkast for around the same price. Will never good a room RDU EXPRRSS or use booking.com again.
The 21C Museum Hotel is very unique and centrally located. The hotel's art exhibit/gallery/museum part is very cool and well-curated. The rooms are very retro. I was a little concerned about the cleanliness given past reviews. However, the room was very clean and modern. The lighting is a tad dim, but that's part of the 1970s charm.
It was a hot weekend. The air conditioner does work - was able to adjust the temps to a call 67F.
Breakfast was quite good considering this is a '2 star' hotel. I'd stayed in 2 other hotels in Durham (a 2-star Days Inn that was awful, and a 2.5 star OYO that was even worse). This hotel was far better than both of those.
It leaves me wondering who comes up with the star rating? Why isn't this a 3? Or at least a 2.5? Anyway... good beds, nicely renovated bathrooms, overall very good value for the money.
The front desk staff was excellent. I had called regarding an early check in due to the time of a wedding I was attending, and both representatives at the front desk spoke with me on the phone, greeted me upon arrival, and followed through providing me with an excellent room, and the early check in! I could not have been more pleased with my experience with the hotel, and especially the staff. Thank you.
I stayed in a King Size room with a city view. The view was great, the room was very clean, bed was super comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I also love the location... within walking distance of amazing restaurants, bars, live entertainment, and a great walking/running/biking trail. Unscripted is my favorite Durham hotel. Thank you for everything!
Wonderful Hotel in a wonderful central location in Southern Durham. Only 10 minutes to RDU, 25 from Downtown Raleigh and close to Duke and UNC. I felt as if everything was very close. The staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel was spotless and immaculate. Great customer service and an overall great vibe. Every time I am in the Triangle, I am staying here for sure!
The room was very clean and the bed was very supportive and comfortable. These essentials were great. As with most hotels, the AC is somewhat loud, but the room's temperature was fine and I was able to sleep well. The breakfast was more than adequate and met my needs. The hotel's location provides quick access to Duke University and is mere minutes from downtown Durham.
I had accidently booked the Marriott hotel in Durham USA, the staff in Durham UK were so helpful and kind. A huge thank you to Robert and Alice. They called the USA for us, up graded our room and gave us tickets to the Lumiere event. I will certainly not use Booking.com EVER again. But I certainly will book a Marriott hotel in the future.
This was an amazing untraditional stay, in that it was a single room in a residential neighborhood. It was a 5-minute drive to downtown Durham. The massage chair is an fantastic addition, especially after a long drive. Everything is modern and super clean. The hosts also provide complimentary water and coffee.
I think you can have a fabulous hotel but the staff be terrible or an okay hotel and the staff be fabulous.
The best parts were the staff and how clean our room was. The price was really good, I hope they don’t increase them. I have no idea why they only have 2 stars and I’m a hard grader!
Love it here! This will be my permanent travel hotel! The staff checked me quickly and they were extremely kind. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Will definitely share this with my organization for my colleagues to use when traveling to Durham!
The hotel experience was great from start to finish!!!! The front desk help was very helpful and friendly. Made sure that we were happy with our accommodations. The breakfast was great and the staff was amazing!!!!
Everything about the hotel especially the room accommodations, two separate bedrooms and two separate baths, the life. Front desk staff, Keisha was amazing! 😍
