Poltava is a medium-sized city.
Poltava is a medium-sized city. It doesn't boast incredible architecture, fascinating buildings or unbelievable food. I ended up here by pure chance, but it turned out to be a pleasant one. The people here are very hospitable and kind. There are places with great food, there are cinemas and a couple of museums. But I don't see the point of staying longer than 3-4 days. Whether I would come back here again just for tourism is unlikely. Poltava is more valuable to me because of its historical significance, but no more. If you're here, try the Poltava cherry dumplings (varEniki s vishney).

The city seems to be poorer than some other Ukrainian cities we traveled to. It looks like it doesn't have a budget to keep it in good condition. Burned buildings right in the center. Dark streets at night. Overall so so

The arch viewpoint is also pretty cool.
Also close the field of the famous battle between swedes and russian empire.
I liked almost everything about this hotel – convenient location in the center of the city, polite staff, clearness and comfort, facilities and the restaurant. By the way, restaurant was really excellent, both breakfasts and dinners, very tasty and good menu choices.
Hotel has (paid) covered private parking at ground floor, with security and controlled access.
The minibar has broad choice of drinks and snacks.
The room was comfortable, large and clean, equipped with conditioner, flat TV, table, minibar, safe, and fully equipped bathroom.
I ordered an oatmeal for some ludicrous 1,1 EUR and was offered a team, nuts, raisins and brad with jam extra as a compliment. They treat their guest as relatives at worst. Fast wi-fi through multiple routers around the place, because of a skype presentation, asked to check-out 1 hour later and my wish was immediately granted.
The place is for sure cleaner than some hotels I was unfortunate to visit.
Cool place. Clean and beautiful. For family stay - its fine choice. There is a small lake with fish near the room - cool for kids. Hotel in the center of the city near the shop (2mins) and TrainStation - sometimes you could hear their quiet charming sound
