Very few guests which made it quiet despite the Russian artillery that started every night at 10 p.m. There is a grocery store about two blocks away which also has an ATM machine and also a machine to put money on your phone if your using an Ukrainian SIM card.

Staff don't speak English well, but they are pleasant and helpful. There is a neighborhood market next door to the hotel, which is very handy for late night shopping for ice cream and cold bottled water.
Mykolaiv is one of my favourite cities in Ukraine.
Mykolaiv is one of my favourite cities in Ukraine. Despite the war in Ukraine, Mykolaiv lives its life. You still can find lot's of things to see and to do. There are many descent restaurants/pubs/bars around the city. Nice and welcoming city!

I was just delivering humanitarian aid and had to get out the next morning. I arrived in the evening and was glad to find accomodations after a long drive. The city water supply is not working at all. One needs bottled water to drink, shower, and use the toilet. I got lucky that there were two jugs of water provided. Fortunately, electricity and internet were working good. I also had decent parking and a code for inside the property. It is wartime there now, and I just dropped aid off the next morning and departed.

The beautiful city in the southern Ukraine to spend a day or two. There are some picturesque views near the river, nice parks to walk and some museums to visit (incl. the fleet museum - overall Nikolayev (Mykolaiv in Ukrainian) used to be a center of shipbuilding). There are plenty of local and quite decent restaurants and cafes in the center, and prices are not high even by Ukrainian standards

This was my second trip to Nikolayev. There will be a third. Atmosphere, food, shops, entertainment, local people, value for the dollar. All is above and beyond. Outstanding Ukraine city to visit and live. Inexpensive taxis are everywhere.

Being from Canada, and by the coast (Newfoundland) I love the nautical feel to Nikolaiv, especially the walk along the riverfront and beaches. It is small enough to get around very cheaply by taxi, and walking is not crazy either. Excellent Sushi and Oysters at the Mafia Restaurant.

Run down ex-SSSR closed industrial city with a few beaches... close to the shipyard.
Pretty gray and depressing with plenty of pot holes.
A few good pubs and restaurants opened up but this only makes a business trip a bit more enjoyable. Nothing that would make me want to come back for the sake of the city itself...
The Zoo is nice!
Newly renovated apartment in the very center of Nikolaev. The apartment has a nice and spacious view of the city. Situated on the most popular street where definetely you will not need taxi. Supermarket, cafes, parks and everything is near by. Internet, air condition, facilities, kitchenware, all exist and new. Clean and comfort stay. The owner welcomed us pleasantly from the first minute till the last day. Recommended for all, who are willing to have superb experience and stay in this city. Thanks a lot.
Location is in the center. The kitchen, AC, washing machine and very good WIFI were available in the apartment. Nice view from windows and balcony. Very well equiped, clean, spacious, comfortable. This is the central location in Nikolaev. Nice local coffee shop across the road, bakery and supermarket “Mida” very close! And friendly hosts. Walking to the river takes no more than 3-5 min. I like it very much! Thank you!
Great location, very good value for money, and friendly staff doing an outstanding job under very stressful circumstances, i.e. the war.
Hotel Helen is situated near the sea and very close to restaurants and bars. It also has a number of off-street parks and there is usually many on-street parks close by, suitable for even big vehicles (we had a truck).
This is my third time staying at this hotel. I stay here for the convenience and location. The rooms are more dormitory style with very basic furniture and items, not extremely comfortable, but good enough. For me, it has the perfect location at the very heart of the city, and this is most important for me.
Love everything about this mini hotel. Very clean, spacious, the owner was very flexible and accommodating. Location is about 15-20 mins walk to the centre. I really enjoyed my short stay here, There's even a bath house on the ground floor and lockers to keep your baggage..

There are really no very good hotels in Nikolaev, all are very old, the best you can hope for is a clean room, with good mattress. The Mark Plaza Hotel met these conditions for me.
