Magong is almost the perfect city for a short stay: small and easy to get around, but also has everything you need. For food you have local delicacies that you can't get on the mainland, but also tasty food that you can recognise well

Plenty to do in Penghu and round Magong if you have a scooter. Otherwise there is little public transportation.
Fireworks from April to June a highlight. So well done, the police direct you to parking and it's a short walk to the harbour to find a seat to watch it.
Living Museum was good. Old street OK.

The best way to enjoy Penghu is to rent scooters and explore on your own. We had two days of organized tours and they were great but the best days were when we just lived by the moment. Seafood is incredible and we were there during uni season which was a treat.

Lots to do all around Penghu islands!
Lots to do all around Penghu islands! sightseeing, windmills, traditional villages, sunset at Lighthouse or at Fong guei basalt, several beautiful beaches, quaint little villages, water activities, snorkeling on several different islands, trying different foods (cactus ice cream, brown sugar cake, savory snacks, seafood). And the people are amazing friendly and happy to share about their island! English-speaking can be limited there, but when you look lost or need help (or ask at the tourism businesses) there is someone around who will help that speaks English.
As for getting around, renting a scooter or a car will make your trip much more enjoyable! VERY limited public transportation and taxis cam be hard to find at times and rarely speak ANY English.

Scooter or car is a MUST to get around; local buses are available too, but limited service. 山水 area is very nice for beaches and water activities, but not many places to eat and those available either close early or must book in advance.
Very kind and helpful people. Spoke quite good English which mad things easier for us. We were able to book scooters and other activities through the hotel.
Views from the room were great and they were very large and comfortable.
The owners make great coffee and there is a machine in the lobby if you wish to make your own tea or coffee
Great location, just a couple of minutes from a beautiful swimming beach and the next bay round had great snorkeling.
Highly recommended 👌
The owner is an excellent host, who helped us a lot. My mother forgot to bring her jacket when we went to see the fireworks. The owner just lent her jacket to my mother. She also gave us good advice on where to go and eat. Such a nice host! The breakfast that she offered were pretty nice and delicious too. We definitely will go back to stay there if we go to Penghu again.
- outstanding host! The owner Cindy picked us up from the airport in Penghu, organized a scooter for us and gave us valuable tips concerning restaurants and places to see ( she speaks English perfectly as she lived in the US for a couple of years)
- amazing hotel/interior with jacuzzi at the roof top
- fabulous breakfast with fresh fruits and coffee
- best ever value for money!
It's very close to a beach and 20 min away from the downtown - quiet at night.
There are a convenient store two breakfast shops nearby to grab some snacks or groceries.
The host and hostess are very hospitable and helpful, which makes us want to be their guests again if there's another chance to visit Penghu in the future.
The place was clean, the beds were soft, floors and towels looks presentable, the bathroom’s water pressure was excellent, too! It’s really a pity I even forgot to take pictures! going back to the hotel each time felt relaxing. There are also not many building right next to it, so it gives you a sense of privacy.
The hotel is located steps away from the city center. Lots of restaurants near and around the hotel. The staff was friendly, especially the morning BKF staff. Morning BKF was decent. The room cost was low due to it is an older hotel. The complimentary transfer from the hotel to the airport was very nice.
The location in the heart of Magong is great lots to eat and shop and see and do. Also the building itself and the room has a nice 'clean lines' aesthetic. The room itself was huge and comfortable bed and linens! Lots of space including two areas of desk. Also had laundry, etc which were very convenient.
Quiet location because it’s not in town Center. Some restaurants within a short walking distance of 2-10 minutes. Only a 20-minute walk to city center Magong where you can visit all the tourist destinations. Fairly new facility with modern look. Comfortable bed. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.
Not only was the room very spacious and comfortable (especially the bed!), the friendliness and warmth of the owners was what made my stay here stand out! They were super friendly and we got to chat over dinner, a lovely place!
The owner was super helpful, arranging scooter rental, picking me up from the airport, and recommending restaurants and activities. The hotel was quiet and the hot water in the shower was perfect.
My favourite place in to stay in Taiwan. Laoban makes everything easy! Friendly place and clean. Near shuishan beach but quieter, not far from Magong. Easy 711 and restaurants nearby
Location is very good, near Magong Old Street, Tian Hou temple, and food / shopping main street. Free use of washer at L4 if you need washing. In room Dyson hairdryer is a pamper!
