Loved Pier 2 and Pier 2 Dayi! The Dome of Light at Formosa Boulevard Station was also very impressive. Having an Easycard also made getting around the city quite convenient. The outlet shopping was great!
We didn't go to Lotus Pond and Fo Guang Shan Buddha this time as we already went there during a previous trip. This time was more of exploring the city itself.
Kaohsiung is a good value for money destination for a short weekend jaunt.

It’s an amazing place, it’s a new city but just a really interesting place to wonder about.. I came for the food, so for me it was perfect as I walked streets trying different independent restaurants. The underground and tram service is 100% Efficient And easy to use get yourself an easy card and load up with some cash. The bullet train is a must I took the train from Taipei to reach kaohsiung… I left via the international airport so so easy to travel.. oh and the night food market is amazing.

This city is a hidden gem that hardly any Americans know about. We saw almost no Westerners even though it's a big city. Lot of great sculpture, art, great restaurants, live music, and right on the ocean. Fo Guang Shan monastery and Buddhist site is about 40 minutes by car and fantastic. Lotus lake is fun, especially if you have kids. Lots of colorful, interesting temples. Qijin island is worth a trip since it's a 15 minute walk to the ferry and then 10 minutes on the ferry to the island.

Fantastic city undiscovered by Westerners.
Fantastic city undiscovered by Westerners. Art district is modern, fun and lively with lots of great art, restaurants, shops and even a movie theatre. Fo Guang Shan Buddhist site and museum is about a 30 minute drive out of town and has some very impressive pieces. Lotus Lake was interesting. Qijin Island was worth a visit--about a 20 minute walk then a 10 minute ferry ride.

this is my first time in Kaohsiung, but not in Taiwan. i've always loved the food and night markets in the country. i enjoyed going to the usual tourist spots in Kaohsiung. its very easy to go different places because of their efficient transport system. uber also works in the city. the next time i visit, i'll probably go to cijin which i wasnt able to go to. and perhaps go there aroung colder months
Our children loved this hotel as we were in a family room with a car theme. The car bed was large and easily accommodated out 6 and 8 year olds. There is also a playroom on the 3rd floor which has self-service laundry, very handy. This is an older hotel which has been redeveloped in a fun way. The location was convenient, we walked from Kaohsiung Station when we arrived and it is not far to the Formosa Station.
For my stay in Kaohsiung, this hotel was pretty great for me. Just a few blocks from the rapid transit which allowed me to go to different parts of the city. Easy walking distance from some very nice restaurants. Easy taxi to and from the High Speed Train station. The front desk staff were very welcoming. I would certainly stay in this hotel again.
Generally, the hotel is clean with good facilities
The breakfasts were good with many selections in reasonable price. I loved location of the hotel. It is around five minutes from Metro station Cianjin. I was about stay two nights but it ends up with five nights which covers my whole Kaohsiung trip.
Very close to the Kaohsiung Metro station. The room and shower room are clean. It's super nice and sweet providing the good dryers. I also like that the hotel plays music in the shower room. Everyone has an electronic induction locker cabinet in the dorm room.
