The manager made sure everything was perfect. Even before our arrival, he had already addressed our concerns about travelling to Tajikistan with advice. He provided an excellent driver and a comfortable journey to the beautiful lakes. Our short stay in Tajikistan left us with a really nice memory. Check in and our was super smooth. Owner is a senior citizen and very kind and hearty person. It was very clean. Room was enough compared to the price. Location was super cool. I did mistake with booking but the owner was very kind to ignore that. 24/7 tea, coffee and water available. Which is a big plus.

Before visiting Asham I thought I had problems with sleeping, but in this place you REALLY have a good rest. Gusar village is 25 min far from Penjikent by car (you can catch the one near the M.Bashoro mosque in Penjikent), the guesthouse is situated in the Asham store building. There is a local market, grocery stores and marshrutka stop near. My dormitory was very big and clean, bed was extra-comfortable, window view was the best ever (mountains). The shower is inside the dormitory, it s very convinient! Hot water 24/7, towels and slippers, kettle and cups are provided. Room was much better than photos on booking, so if you are looking for the comfort and calmness Asham is what you need. But be informed that on Saturdays and Sundays a noisy tajik weddings can be held in the building. Anyway it is a good opportunity to see tajik wedding)) It`s ok if you make photos and dance with guests)) Staff was so kind and hospitable, if you have any problem or question, just ask)

Being on more of a budget, we opted for the tent option, which was surprisingly warm and relatively comfortable. I think the inside of the tent could've had a big shake out before we arrived but I also know how hard it is to keep tents clean. The location is obviously fantastic to start your hikes, although a bit of a pain to haggle with drivers to get to (but we managed to get a lift up). We also walked back down (which was a much easier walk back down than I had thought) and the owner was kind enough to call and make sure a Marshrutka was running the following day, for our departure. Although we didn't see the rooms, the overall quality and cleanliness of the place warrants in my mind, the higher price than other guesthouses in the Fann Mountains/Seven Lakes.
