One of our favourite stays on our 5 month trip of South-East Asia so far! It's so luxurious, great location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, an amazing shower and good aircon. The pool is also gorgeous. The aircon in our room wasn't working on check in so we got upgraded to a room with a tub and it was superb! Would highly recommend. Breakfast was pretty good too!

Railay Beach is one of our favourite spots in Thailand.
Railay Beach is one of our favourite spots in Thailand. There are three main beaches, and the best is Phra Nang Beach. It is easy to walk to and from all the beaches.
Railay Beach - walking street access, a couple of resorts, kayak and SUP hire, and long-tail boats from and to Ao Nang.
Phra Nang Beach - rock climber, Princess Cave Shrine, great swimming beach. During high season, they have long-tail boats selling hot food and drinks.
At East Railay Beach, the tide goes out a long way, which is not suitable for swimming. Many tourist boats come this way, and there is a floating pontoon. There are many restaurants, bars, cafes, laundry etc on this side. Also, access to Walking Street.
Gorgeous location, absolutely stunning natural cliffs, rocky island outcroppings, warm aquamarine water. An old style beach town that is rare to find these days. Great diversity of restaurants, (the Indian food place was one of the best anywhere) cafes (mango sticky rice!), and local shops along 'walking street', fabulous to just lay on the beach, but hiking, rock climbing, scuba diving schools/rental equipment/excursions, are available for the more adventurous.
A little difficult to get to (long tail or speedboat only) - which keeps it remote, peaceful and relaxed - no ridiculous night life, family friendly, local, easy going, picturesque peninsula on the Andaman Sea.
We booked a group boat tour around PhiPhi islands - boat was delayed, then broke down in the middle of the Sea, luckily a passing boat provided a 'spare' propellor!!! PhiPhi island visit was just a lunch stop, and basically a huge cafeteria line with spaghetti and fried chicken, ugh. Snorkeling, boat diving, cave hiking, discovering empty beach coves along the way though, were all incredible. Visiting "The Beach" lagoon was picturesque, but incredibly overcrowded - no wonder they don't allow swimming in the lagoon. Toilet facilities on PhiPhi and The Beach were best left unvisited, unless absolutely necessary. The tour was 8/10, but the adventure of it all was 11/10.
Railay is well worth a 3-4 day stay, some of our neighbors were staying 2weeks and longer over the new year's holiday. It's an absolutely beautiful, relatively undeveloped resort area, with great food, spectacular beach life, stunning views, and friendly and welcoming local people

This is not for anyone travelling with a disability.
This is not for anyone travelling with a disability. Depending on the tide , will depend on where you are dropped off. The long tail drivers did not help at all getting off the boat or with luggage.Had we been at the other Quay life would have been easy. There was no one there to greet us and our hotel was on the other side of the island a long way to drag luggage..
This is a young person's resort the smell of weed is all over the island. The THAI people don't have the same attitude as elsewhere as they have a monopoly.

The longer you stay, the more you discover.
The longer you stay, the more you discover. Railay has a few hidden gems that are worth exploring. We discovered a few favourite spots for dinner, both in the walking street as well as in Railay East. The sunset on Railey West or the Phra Nang beach are breathtaking. We recommend hiking up to the viewpoint, and if you are brave climb down to the lagoon. We also enjoyed renting a kayak during the day, and do a night tour to see the bio-luminescent plankton. Worth noting: If you book a tour on Railay East, it is often quite a bit cheaper, and priced for backpackers who stay on this side of Railay. The tours themselves are typically of the same quality. The most buzz happens in the walking street between East and West Railay and on the West beach.

The property was gorgeous and quiet.
The property was gorgeous and quiet. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was exceptional. The pool was great too. The only downside was the beach itself - rough sand, not as beautiful as the other side of the island. So the hotel itseld was absolutely wonderful but the beach was not.
We really enjoyed our time at this hotel, the grounds were beautiful and our room was clean and comfortable. The pool had a great view even at night. The buffet breakfast was included with our room and tasted great with a variety of western food and some Thai dishes as well.
We are in our 20s so the walk to the hotel from Railay West was not bad at all, however it could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. The hotel itself is also hilly but this wasn't a problem for us and the staff were as accommodating as possible.
Railay Hilltop is more akin to a lodge than anything else. I wouldn’t call it a resort. That said, it functions well if you consider it a lodge rather than a hotel room (this is what you get for going for the cheapest accommodation on the beach). I recommend keeping your aircon on even when leaving the property — this wards off mosquitoes and other annoying critters. Beds are ok and toilets function well. You get the essentials I say.
Location was brilliant! Located right on Railay Beach West. The morning was the best time of day to sit and have a coffee at the hotel restaurant as it was nice and quiet ! Wonderful views of the limestone cliffs.
We opted for the poolside room which was a good size and had a nice terrace to chill and relax on. would advise against taking one of the rooms with balconies as you would end up walking up and down the steps all day!
On the east side of Railay, the hotel is quiet and nicely laid out. The ground floors with direct access to the pool are nice - and rooms are huge! Great balcony with sitting / lounge area. Staff are friendly and rather efficient. The breakfast is simple but plentiful (toast/butter/jam/eggs and a couple Asian dishes). Great price / value (even for Thailand). Recommended!
The location of the hotel is fantastic and offers a very nice view, gardens are beautiful. The service of « tuctuc » to bring you to the beach is really helpful.
I enjoyed the breakfast but regret that the restaurant was not opened for dinner but there are many restaurants around Railay East and Railay West.
Very nice hotel, the location is great - it is very close to the east pier which is very comfortable with luggage. Also very close to the walking street and to the west beach.
The hotel's resturant was under construction, so they gave us vouchers for a great breakfast in another hotel.
Best hotel you can find in Railay beach, it is a little far from the port it is really calm and you have a privat beach and free 'shuttle' boat to the pier. The staff is super nice and all in all experience was amazing. Oh and breakfast is great as well, we ate pancakes every morning!
Location was great, ten minutes walk to the West Railay Beach, very good restaurants nearby (Tree House, The Heart for example). We stayed for just one night to enjoy Railay, so for the money it was kind of OK, but if your standards are high, look elsewhere.
Everything. It was excellent across the board. Room was spacious, lovely bed. Breakfast included lots of choice. Really pretty gardens. Location is great - very close to East pier and 10 mins walk from West Railay beaches.
We had to reschedule a couple of times due to my diving course taking long, and the hotel staff were nice enough to do that for me
Location is good
View from balcony was nice
Room was spacious
Breakfast buffet was good.
Railay beach is beautiful and definitaly worth visiting. The hotel is very nice as well, has a good breakfast, a beautiful garden and a good pool. Monkeys often visit it as well.
Loved my pool villa. I loved the transport service from Ao Nang airport to Ao Nam Pier and then the long tail boat service to East Railay floating pier and then to the Hotel.
