Phuket town is far from the airport and the beach.
Phuket town is far from the airport and the beach. But public transport is available. Maybe it's better if you have an app for public transport. When i went to Central, the reception booked for me. But in going back to the hotel, it was a bit of a challenge because i had no app. I had to negotiate with the driver of a motorcycle. It is a little city or town where there are a lot of small restaurants

Absolutely incredible, by far our favourite part of Phuket overall. The Sunday walking market was fantastic with so many authentic Thai dishes and lovely handmade items. The vibe was truly special and super memorable. If you’re visiting, you absolutely must visit The Library bar - the drinks were fantastic, reasonably priced and the bartenders do really impressive tricks by spinning and throwing the bottles as they make your drinks. Also visit the elephant jungle sanctuary - Nancy the tour guide is super knowledgeable and funny, and she really elevated the experience to the next level.
If you’re flying out of Phuket airport, make sure to visit the Soi Dog Foundation (it’s just a short trip from the airport). It’s completely free to do a tour and you get to play with the most adorable puppies, but don’t forget to donate to their cause.

1 day is completely enough, there are far better places in Phuket where you can spend your time during your vacation. The old town is interesting and they have a Cat cafe if you love cats, you would really enjoy it! There are other nice cafes and shops where you can buy souvenirs and post cards.

I stayed in Old Phuket town, which is the quiet side of the city and my hotel was a walkable distance to most places. I do however wish I could’ve split my stay between Patong and Old Phuket town, to get the whole experience of Phuket.
I enjoyed the Sunday night market, the vibe and food was really amazing. There are so many affordable nice cafes to visit around Old Phuket and sightseeing places.
Really had an amazing time and would definitely come back to explore some more

The Sunday market is brilliant.
The Sunday market is brilliant. Starts at around 4pm and goes on until 8 or 9pm. Phuket old town isn’t a party town and most places shut around 9-10pm.
The architecture is beautiful to see and adds another level of interest.
extremely comfortable beds, amazing hotel, absolutely wonderful staff, perfect location. we stayed for 2 nights at the end of our beaches/islands Thailand experience and we really enjoyed it. Loved wandering around the old town. the architecture in the area is gorgeous. and I had the best coffee of my life (I’m from Sydney where we have great coffee) in a little cafe around the corner called CAMPUS
Location and view were nice. We had a two bedroom villa overlooking the sea. It was a good size. Communal area in the villa was open plan but was very dated with cheap furniture.
Fah. She was the best thing about the hotel! So deserves a raise and should be at a proper 5* hotel. She was super attentive and even checked in with us on her day off.
Merlin hotel is a very good budget stay for Phuket Old town. It’s located quite near the central area about 10 min walk and it’s in a quiet area.
The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also good with great water pressure and hot water.
Staff were really nice and we enjoyed the fruits and banana bread at breakfast.
It's very new with good facilities. I like the pool, the staffs are so friendly.
The location is quite far from the city, but it's in front of the beach which is a plus.
It's a quite place and not crowded, I really enjoyed stayed there. I went for morning run around the area and it's one of the best experience i had.
Lovely boutique style hotel in the quiet part of the old town but very close to the walking street market. Room not large but had everything that I needed. Added bonus of a pool to cool off.
Bed was comfortable compared to other hard beds we have experienced in Thailand.
Booked for one night and stayed an extra two.
The staff was super friendly and helpful, one of the nicest people I've met in Thailand!
The room was spacious, just keep in mind facilities were a bit dated, but honestly it wasn't a problem for a couple of nights. The hotel is 10 mins away from the bus station and Old Town, so highly recommended value for money!
Lovely Staff .
Easy location .
Super comfy beds best in thailand yet .
Lighting outside was gorgeous nice attention to detail in this cute hotel
10 mins walk gorgeous cinema English films thai subtitled inside huge shopping mall.
15 mins walk phuket old town.
Good choices for breakfast East meet West, yummy Thai desserts. Nice location not too hustle but not too remote from things. The price is very reasonable, would recommend it for city exploring 2-3 nights then you can move close to the beach if you want.
One of the more unique properties we’ve stayed in. The hotel is run by a close-knit family and includes a museum with a view back to Thailand well before todays beach-n-party mindset. It’s perfectly situated in the heart of Old Phuket Town.
Perfect location, you can just walk to commercial area (phuket town). To many nice options for food, drinks, shopping. Just 20 mins by bike to pathong beach. Everything what you need in Phuket is aroun this place. Nice staff, comfy hotel
The stay was exceptional. Everything was perfect. Modern, very clean and spacious room. Giant and comfortable bed. Staff was very very helpful and spoke perfectly in English. I really recommend! It was the best hotel we had in Thailand.
Within walking distance of the centre of Phuket town and several shops and restaurants, but the area is quiet in the evenings. The staff are nice. The hotel itself is fine although the decor and facilities feel quite dingy and cheap.
The mansion/hotel is located in a calm and quite area with neat and clean spacious rooms and good staff. One can get food from Seven Eleven and other restaurants. Intercity bus terminal is within 10-15 minutes walking distance.
the cleaniness, hospitality by mon, the location, the best stay u can ever have in thailand if beach is not a strict requirement. anyways the beaches are quite near too.
Dont forget the mango rice for breakfast.
The way you can walk out the room into the pool is a nice touch. The beds are super comfy especially compared to others I have slept in during our Thailand trip. The overall decor of the hotel is lovely.
Nice quiet hotel in a good location for the old town bars and restaurants near by suited us fine away from the busy Kata and Karon beach area old town is nice worth a visit would stay here again
The owner was helpful, nice and kind.
Very nice and clean rooms in this lovely family owned hotel. Great location close to phuket city center.
Overall really enjoyed our time here!
The hotel is in a quiet area, but the good beaches are not close to it. I think the best part of the hotel was the pool as it's clean and not many people are using it.
the beach and the pool was really nice with such a nice view.
best Starbucks view I ever saw is exactly near the hotel and it was one of our main spots for everyday
