Phuket town is far from the airport and the beach.
Phuket town is far from the airport and the beach. But public transport is available. Maybe it's better if you have an app for public transport. When i went to Central, the reception booked for me. But in going back to the hotel, it was a bit of a challenge because i had no app. I had to negotiate with the driver of a motorcycle. It is a little city or town where there are a lot of small restaurants

Absolutely incredible, by far our favourite part of Phuket overall. The Sunday walking market was fantastic with so many authentic Thai dishes and lovely handmade items. The vibe was truly special and super memorable. If you’re visiting, you absolutely must visit The Library bar - the drinks were fantastic, reasonably priced and the bartenders do really impressive tricks by spinning and throwing the bottles as they make your drinks. Also visit the elephant jungle sanctuary - Nancy the tour guide is super knowledgeable and funny, and she really elevated the experience to the next level.
If you’re flying out of Phuket airport, make sure to visit the Soi Dog Foundation (it’s just a short trip from the airport). It’s completely free to do a tour and you get to play with the most adorable puppies, but don’t forget to donate to their cause.

1 day is completely enough, there are far better places in Phuket where you can spend your time during your vacation. The old town is interesting and they have a Cat cafe if you love cats, you would really enjoy it! There are other nice cafes and shops where you can buy souvenirs and post cards.

I stayed in Old Phuket town, which is the quiet side of the city and my hotel was a walkable distance to most places. I do however wish I could’ve split my stay between Patong and Old Phuket town, to get the whole experience of Phuket.
I enjoyed the Sunday night market, the vibe and food was really amazing. There are so many affordable nice cafes to visit around Old Phuket and sightseeing places.
Really had an amazing time and would definitely come back to explore some more

The Sunday market is brilliant.
The Sunday market is brilliant. Starts at around 4pm and goes on until 8 or 9pm. Phuket old town isn’t a party town and most places shut around 9-10pm.
The architecture is beautiful to see and adds another level of interest.
Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The view on the sea from the swimming pools areas, at least when the tide is high. And you have to forget the boat hulls rusting on a side (about which, in fairness, the hotel probably cannot do anything). The location (Koh Sire), is much quieter and nicer than, for instance, Patong or most of the other constructed areas in Phuket which, generally speaking, are just ugly.
Food was good. Chilean white wine by the glass was also nice (that is not something so easy to find in Thailand).
Unique and relaxed small boutique hotel very central to the main Phuket Old Town area. All facilties were clean and in good condition. The time of season we visited (late October) the atmosphere was very relaxed without the hum and busy atmosphere of much larger establishments. Very close to a main bus terminal if you are planning to use local buses to get around in. Beakfast for 200 Bht was simple and basic, but included cereal, bacon & eggs, toast, juices and other Asian options of course.
We loved every corner of this apartment. It is right in the middle of Phuket Town, on the very famous street and in the building with the famous ice cream. The people were always friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them.
The apartment has everything you need, it is very spacious, has air conditioning, a nice balcony to enjoy the city's vibes. Yes, it can be noisy in the evening but it depends on your own perception on how to actually enjoy it.
Aaaaand you get delicious free ice cream!
Breakfast was very good, selection of fresh fruit was abundant (and staff checks on your coffee-preferences immediately as you walk into breakfast area). Another plus was that breakfast/restaurant area is practically on the beach, 100% outdoors. The rooms and layout of whole hotel area was nice (almost like a mini-jungle). Tennis courts were rugged, but you could play.
Pools and beach were clean + although the hotel was almost fully booked, there was always room everywhere.
The room was very nice and clean. The sea views from our room were beautiful and we were greeted by the sunrise every morning.
Breakfast in the restaurant was of a very good standard and dinner was equally as nice.
Hotel staff are so accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and happy.
The best hotel we have stayed at in Thailand so far.
Hotel staff accommodated my request to have the bed decorated so I could propose to my now fiancé.
I love this place and I will come back again on my next trip to Phuket. Until now, it is the best hotel in Thailand where we slept.
I loved every detail at the room, how clean it was, the lovely balcony, fast internet, and how friendly the staff was.
Additionally, they accepted to storage my big luggage at the check out day. I find it amazing from their side and I am grateful for the help the staff give us.
Definitely I highly recommend this hotel!
The straf was absolutly amazing and did their very best to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They assisted us willingly with every wish we had. The location is beautifull. In a quiet and peacefull island, the hotel is a perfect place for those who look for a great place to relax. It occupiess a vast area - very nicely gardened with nature all around. Huge and beautifull pools. Very nice beach. Food and drinks was very good.
Great location as it was really close to the shops and cafes. Hostel itself was really nice and felt super safe. Clean and comfy beds and nice shower and toilet area which never felt busy. A cafe fronts the hostel and it’s really nice, the staff were great and have pictures giving recommendations for Phuket. One staff member was super helpful, writing an allergy card in Thai that we’ve used across Thailand.
Staying at the ‘On-On is like a step back in time, wonderful old building with lots of history, a really memorable stay. Ideal location for exploring Phuket Old Town. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby for breakfast and the hotel does provide various seating areas and a lounge with refreshments and local Thailand snacks.
Merlin hotel is a very good budget stay for Phuket Old town. It’s located quite near the central area about 10 min walk and it’s in a quiet area.
The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also good with great water pressure and hot water.
Staff were really nice and we enjoyed the fruits and banana bread at breakfast.
This place is amazing! Close to the shoppingmall, phuket town and just a short drive to the beaches. Great value for money. Room was big and spacious and most comfy beds I ever slept in in Thailand. Staff is super friendly and helpful. You cant rent a motorbike cheap there. Everything was great for me and my boyfriend
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms have great views and the hotel is located in the city center and just a few meters away from the bus terminal, clock tower, and many other famous restaurants in the old town. We simply loved our stay at the Royal Phuket city hotel.
One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Extremely clean, quiet, and in the middle of old Phuket town. The staffs were very polite and helpful. Though the stay is the cheapest I've had in Thailand, it came with breakfast and they even gave a souvenir. Would highly recommend.
Perfect location, you can just walk to commercial area (phuket town). To many nice options for food, drinks, shopping. Just 20 mins by bike to pathong beach. Everything what you need in Phuket is aroun this place. Nice staff, comfy hotel
We did the SHA Phuket sandbox. This hotel was very nice and sparkling clean. The views are beautiful. The pool was wonderful. The buffet breakfast was the best ever. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Staff was amazing! Every time we needed recomendations they were able to help us. We even extended our stay in the hotel. One of the best accomodations we got in Thailand.
The Hotel was not too far from the Patong beach, and we can take the taxi only 25minutes. The Hotel was in Phuket town, it is very easy to travel around the Phuket town.
This was the nicest hotel we stayed at in Thailand. The bed and pillows were so soft and comfortable. The staff was so attentive and friendly. Nice breakfast too.
