The visit was principally in order to visit the Gem Stone market but there are plenty more places to see. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is well worth a visit. A number of Temples are there too.

Going through the Taksin shipyard and reviewing things there. Has character and some past history I am sure. We ate at the resort because they order whatever you want and their family brings it in for you at anytime. Breakfast was exceptional, a mix of european and thai and fitted our family. Easy to get around; however, would try and find an easier route to get to the Meena, we did not have GPS, so we ended up inside of the town and had a long drive to the resort.

We went to the National Park, which was close, to see the waterfall. Ha ha ha ha, climbed up many steps and there it was, a little trickle of water falling down a hill....ha ha ha ha. Would not recommend this tourist attraction. Of course, I have been to real waterfalls, and so maybe that has something to do with my remarks.

We really liked Chanthaburi.. after Chiang Mai where we live, really enjoyed getting around so easily, and just 30 mins from the beach. Over the 4 days driving around it i reckon it's got everything. Pity we can't move here.

The hostel is the nicest one I have stayed in while in SE Asia and I have been traveling for 8 months in 4 countries.
The staff was very helpful with providing documentation as I extended my visa in Thailand.
Without request my room was upgraded, which was a wonderful surprise. Very comfortable beds, too!
Chanthaburi is a very fun town with a lot of different areas to explore.
Great Hotel, its a new hotel, so it has that fresh new feeling. Its very comfortable and clean. The food is very good and I love the fact that the food is brought to your table by a robot, a very quirky fun way of getting your food. The rooms are very large and the bed is very comfortable. I would definitely stay here in the future..
Good breakfast with mix of local food and International food. The room size is big and clean. The vibe of the hotel is cozy and comfy, like you are staying at home. Products are localized but good quality. Staffs are very nice, helpful and polite. If it's not just too far from Bangkok, I would be one of recurring guest.
My first impression is economical price, supper clean accommodation, in Lobby floor have any food, snacks and small items personal care product are available for sale suitable for who don’t need to walk outside. Free hot drinks self service start at 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The hotel have many branches in Thailand also.
Mook at reception was beyond helpful and cheerful. The balcony overlooking the river was lovely, and the hotel was super close to the gem market. I really can’t say enough about how fantastic everyone working there was. Everything worked- fast wifi, strong AC, hot shower.
All around good hotel, excellent value for the money. Professional, competent staff. Great location, in 'Old' Chanthaburi, only a 5 minute walk from the river front restaurants and shops, only 8 minutes walk to the Catholic Cathedral in the other direction.
This is my 2nd stay at Am2tree. It is quiet and off the main road. The rear rooms face a jungle. Ok, maybe not a jungle but an undeveloped field between the hotel and the river. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating.
Very nice facility clean bathroom & main room. It is a bit out of the mainstream of things & there is no signage telling where the hotel is or its name any place. Pricing was a good value, but again, it's a bit out of the way
Hotel is next to the river - very relaxing and peaceful. Room is spacious and a bed is comfy. Staffs are great. Location is great. Also many convenient stores are near, so as restaurants.
