Kata beach was lovely. Especially compared to some other places visited in Thailand e.g. Patong and Karon, it very nice and quiet yet enough to do in the surrounding areas with restaurants, bars and shopping. The vibe was good, chill and relaxing. The sand was nice, the water was shallow and warm, and you could book exciting water sports if you wanted e.g. parasailing. The views were also lovely, seeing the blue water, greenery, islands and the green mountains.

We have been there several times last time 4 years ago. But I will not recommend anybody to go there - It's way to crowded by Russian people.
Since we were there 3 years ago the number of people on the beach has doubled up by five.

It’s just a beach. I’m from Australia so we agave plenty of nice beaches and are a bit spoiled.
Kata is too crowded and a plethora of people umbrellas and sun beds and people it’s like Bondi beach on Christmas Day everyday

Nice beach with affordable sunbeds and umbrellas. A bit crowded though, but that's to be expected. A couple of good eating options that offer takeaways for one to carry it back to the sunbeds and eat there. It is close to a street lined with juice, coconut, fruit, miscellaneous vendors. Nice sandy beach with no pebbles and frequent big waves!

Great beach, several stall with fresh coconut juice and smoothies. Beach with white sand and merely clean water. Size just right - not too long or short. Can rent an umbrella for extra charge or lay in the shade of nearby trees. Beginning of the beach has many boats standing but further it is calm and quiet.

Raw sewage was pouring directly to the beach on the south side of Kata beach! That's totally unacceptable.
We only went there once and left immediately after seeing this situation.
Good thing we went to several excursions and got to enjoy clean beaches elsewhere.
From the moment we walked in we were nicely greeted by the staff.
The hotel is located 10min away from the beach if you walk, or you can use their free hourly shuttle service that takes you to, or brings you back from, Kata beach.
It has multiple pools that can be used, also for kids.
Breakfast was varied with good selection.
The room was big and comfortable with a very nice balcony and it felt quite private.
Facilities were very clean, and we could even see the Big Buddha from the hallway leading to our room.
Such nice staff who helped and explained everything to us. Excellent service, which I have not experienced in any 4-star hotel in Europe. Maybe this kind of service is common in Thailand, but we were very pleased. Bedroom was spacious enough with nice balcony. Location is 1hour from the Airport, 30min to old town but very near to the beach :) In my opinion, there is no need to buy breakfast in the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants/streetfood to choose outside. Overall a very pleasant stay in Phuket.
Nice and clean room, not very big, but comfortable. Room has a balcony. Staff is very friendly. Good location, not far from both Kata and Karon beaches, restaurants and seven eleven market. Sea view (partially, from 3rd floor). Good pool and enough sun beds, view on the Big Buddha from the pool area. What is also very important for me is that the air conditioner didn't blow on the bed. Nice hotel in general, I liked it. Great value for money. If I come to Phuket again I think I will stay here.
We loved this hotel. The room was beautiful with a lovely big balcony. Both pools were great and we enjoyed happy hour at the pool bar! The breakfast was really nice with good choice and eggs cooked how you like. We found the Kata area to be the nicest in Phuket to stay and the hotel was just a few minutes from the beach. The staff were really friendly and the manager came around at breakfast and the pool to make sure everything was okay. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We were given an old pool villa where the pool was yellow, and the rooms old and rusty. At £450 ($550) a night, this is crazy to be charging for such old and worn out rooms. The facilities were not 5 stars.
Luckily the amazing front of house staff Daniel and the rest managed to sort us out with a slightly better room. The place is run and alive due to its amazing staff, not the actual rooms and facilities.
You can get much better 5 star hotels in Phuket for the same price.
Quieter then street places. Large room with a roof top pool. 10 to 12 min walk to Kata beach. You can see big Budda from pool. They have a elevator and pool/beach towels. Everything you need close by including 7/11. We had a fridge. Air con worked good. Larger balcony with drying rack. On demand hot water heater so no waiting. Don't let the short gravel rd scare you off. Local Monday market near hotel. Don't miss it.
Nothing wrong with the hostel itself, clean and comfortable rooms. It was quite quiet when I stayed so not very social. Seemed to be a few people working from there so maybe a good option for working travellers. Good location in Kata close to all that you need. My first time in Phuket and I probably wouldn’t go again because of how busy/touristy it was.
.Modern Hotel, great value for money, new modern facility, huge rooms, modern bathrooms, excellent tv, lots english channels, breakfasts are fantastic, so glad to discover the Blue Pine, I have been visiting a regular nearby resort over many years which I rated highly, Blue Pine is far better, it will always be my first choice in Phuket
This hotel is a different, wonderful world, where you can hide away from the busy Phuket! Our room was very authentic, romantic and clean. The hotel was really amazing at the evening hours too, because of the lights. If we go back to Phuket we’ll stay in Sawasdee Village again!!!! :) thank you for everything!! :)
What was not to love? The location was amazing. Having the pool just steps away from our door was clutch. Food, shopping and beach all just a few steps away from our hotel. Great staff, very clean room, comfortable bed. I will DEFINITELY return if we come back to Phuket. Loved the bar on site!!

Food was good, service - excellent, just the overall location and set up was terrific. That is the hotel, then the pool, restaurant and lounge areas, then the beautiful Kata Beach and behind you was mini downtown with pretty much everything else you'd want right there :)
