Wonderful location, Polovragi cave and Polovragi monastery are two objectives you need to visit if you travel in Romania. Acess road very good. For eating and over night stay I recommend Castania guest house, very close to Polovragi monastery.

The Polovragi Monastery is among the oldest religious strongholds in Romania documented over 515 years ago. In fact it has been there a lot longer, some estimate over 700 years. Another thing you don't want to miss is the Transalpina road, trust me, you need to cross it with your car ... the landscape & the experience is simply amazing. You can do this only during summer. This road goes through Ranca, mountain ski resort if you're a fan (nice in the summer, better in winter). These 3 are just a few of the many attractions this beautifull area has to offer. Very good location, 1m from Monastery, 3 m by car from Polovragi Cave. 15-20 min to Muierilor cave. Beautiful villa, well taken care of, perfect for family, big yard, swings, outdoor pavilion. Damian and his wife, exceptionally kind, went the extra mile to fulfill all our needs and make our stay great. We warmly recommend!
