One of the best winter resorts in Romania.
One of the best winter resorts in Romania. One can see that the investments into the place are keeping up, relative to other places in Romania. Great sceneries!! Also great restaurants and dinning possibilities, many times with live folk music.
For skiing in particular, there is a relatively new lift and current slopes are great, but there should be more lifts and skiing options. There should be one sledging option from the top of the slope as well, for families with children!! (the sledging facility within the city is a bit of a joke and quite dangerous as it gets pretty crowdy).
Overall, quite a great place to spend some vacation time!

Very nice place to visit for skiing. We were visited Poiana Brasov from 08-12 of February 2024,luckily on the track there were machines that made artificial snow, otherwise there would be no snow for skiing. Perfect place to practise as beginner or intermediate. There is a variety on ski lift prices and lifts to choose which can get you around 600m height and blue-red lines roads are around 4km with hotel/bars on your road to rest. The only bad of our trip was the Romanian people which are not very helpful and a little bit aggressive.

I was in Poiana Brasov for the first time.
I was in Poiana Brasov for the first time. I'm not skiing, so winter time is not that appealing to me. But I might just changed my mind. And here's why.
We took a lot of walks in the nature - and I must say the landscape is spectacular there. The forests, the meadows, the crests. We stayed in a very nice location, with a spa, so we could relax in an outdoor heated pool. Also, we found around a lot of great restaurants and the food was delicious. One after-noon we went in Brasov and explored the city. A lovely Transylvanian city!
I have to say that we were there before Christmas time, so it wasn't so crowded. But all in all, I'd say we had a 10/10 experience for a prolonged weekend in Poiana.

There is a great place with a nice view, quite silent and with really fresh air.
Everything is overpriced so expect to spend more money than planned. Parking fee starts from 3 lei up to 20 lei / hour. Bring cash with you to pay the public parking fee. The devices did not return the exchange so, pay attention to have small banknotes (1, 5, 10 lei).
There are several good restaurants around, quite expensive but good ( I liked the Escalade restaurant from the hotel with same name) , I would avoid Sura Dacilor due to their "communist" behavior (by asking one waiter to suggest something good he replied: " I am selling food, not eating it!").
A must: a trip to Postavaru mountain by gondola lift.
Pretty much everything including all the facilities (especially the saunas and outdoor heated pools at the SPA and the great fitness studio - even if fairly small it has absolutely everything you need for high quality strength and cardio trainings), the hotel layout and indoor design, the staff, the location. After a long loyalty period of staying more than 10 times during 2 years at a similar 4 star hotel in Sinaia, Teleferic has become my new first option when returning to Brasov-Prahova area for leisure! Absolutely superb!
Location is very good, studio is pretty big and with a nice view of the mountains and the forest. Located at 2nd floor and the access is made trough a 5 digit lock. Big patio where you can sunbathe and just chill. Public transportation to Poiana Brasov and Brasov is 10m away. Underground parking lot is easy to access but if two SUV's are parked next to each other, it will be pretty hard to get in/out of the car.

Location is perfect. The apartment is exactly like in photos, even better. Kitchen is well equipped.
Refrigerator is big.The bus to Poiana Brasov is stopping in front of the property.
Communication with the owner was the best.
Beds are big and comfortable.
Apartment had enough toilet paper, towels, bin bags, washing liquid for our stay.

The apartment is great, 2 bedrooms, one as a loft, a living room with a small kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a restroom. Overall a beautiful place, large windows, all needed amenities, TVs in every room, a nice retro looking freezer, stove and oven, and most importantly an amazing view. Great stay in (near) Poiana Brasov.

We were very pleased with our stay! We enjoyed the breakfast, spa and overall accommodations. We easily rented ski equipment on site and took the shuttle straight from the hotel to the ski lifts.
Can´t rate this hotel, because they decide to move our group to another pension which was nice in Poiana Brasov. I chose this hotel on our trip as a thematically chosen but we sleep in others...
The location of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The beds are comfortable too. Plenty of restaurants around the area with great Romanian traditional food.
Staff was exceptional, very helpful and dedicated. Breakfast and NYE dinner were very good. Location is great, super close to the center of Poiana Brașov.
