Breakfast was good. Nice mountain area, eating on the terrace was great for enjoying it. The room had a huge TV where I could setup my own Netflix account. Bathroom was also pretty nice. Dinner was also pretty good and reasonably priced. Also a huge selection available. Also the staff can provide you an English menu - but the online menu is only in Romanian.

The hotel is recently refurbished and it's clean and comfortable. Perfectly located in the city center, benefits from a large parking and the vicinity of a park, as well as shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It is the city were I was born, so for sure I can recomand it, you have lots to do, lots to visit. A unique Museum for Coal Miner is open all year round, an exceptional Theatre and a nice cinema are also present; Access to Parang mountain resort is possible via the 2 chairlifts, or by car in spring and summer; You can also do windsailing, rafting, and lots and lots of walks; In summer several swimming pools are open, as well as night clubs

My review is about Parang, because Ayana is situated at the bottom of Parang, near the old chairlift. Parang is quite rundown. I hope that now they will began investing, after the road was finished. We only ate at Ayana. We liked the view from the mountain, but if you don't have a car, and the chairlift doesn't work, it is quite a long trip...

Very poor management of this great nature jewel.

Very poor management of this great nature jewel. The transportation systems are all separated and with manual check-ins / check-outs, everything is "cash only", no ATM-s, no stores in touristic area. The train station is sad and unwelcoming, no information about anything. Wild place, indeed, what a pity it is inhabited...

Petrosani, as all the other former minning cities from the area, looks depressing. Fortunately, not far away there is the National Park Retezat, the aurochs reserve and the skiing resort Straja. Unfortunately, none of the above is being managed in such a way to provide a high level of satisfaction for potential tourists. Such a pity :)

Petroșani itself is not the most beautiful town, but it is conveniently located, allowing access to one of the most beautiful parts of Romania - Retezat mountains (the oldest natural park in Romania and a spectacular alpine region), Parâng mountains and Țara Hațegului with Șureanu mountains (home to the ancient Dacians, thus many archaeological sites).

The hotel was wonderful, located in a very interesting building, nicely renovated, it was a really pleasant surprise. Rooms are very clean and large and so are the bathrooms. The attention to details is remarkable, there was a shaving kit and 2 toothbrush kits among the usual soap and shower gel. There's a large parking and a nice restaurant. The hotel staff is friendly, attentive, and dedicated to providing exceptional service. Since we left early the next day, we received breakfast to go. Mountains are very close.

The location was perfect, allowing easy access to local attractions and dining. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable experience in Petrosani

Hotel is very very close to the ski lift. Room was ok in terms of surface, facing the mountains had a great view. A bit cold on Friday (at 1 o'clock we had 17 degrees in our room), but it was ok on Saturday night. Good value for money for sure. Breakfast was ok but limited in options, restaurant not ventilated so you can smell anything cooked into the kitchen (although dinner was tasty) :D Definitely a good choice (quality/price) if you are there for skiing/hiking.

The place is just near Hotel Rusu - so just at the basement of the new chairlift. The continental breakfast included in the price of the room (you have three options to choose from) was good and the waiters very nice and friendly. The coffee is very good. The owner is also a truly pleasant person. The room was very clean and the view from our window was breathtaking.

The hotel is elegantly renovated. The indoor and outdoor atmosphere are nice in general. It provides enough parking places. Its location is very convenient especially if you are on a ski holiday - Straja, Transalpina, Parang and Sureanu ski resorts are relatively easy to reach by car. The restaurant serves good food. Very good coffee is available at breakfast.

The location was great, close to the Obarsia Lotrului (Transalpine) and Petrosani. Access to a good kitchen and lots of outdoor space - so it never felt crowded. Really friendly owners and stuff, not to mention big 3 cuddly dogs. We came with our german shepherd - the owner introduced his dogs properly, so there was no problem with that.

This place is amazing, everything is perfect. We were in 45 different countries in the world, we saw a lot of houses, hotels, rooms... But this place is the best!! It's a feeling like you are in your grandmother's house and garden. We didn't want to leave this house😃 We give more than 10. Our daughter gives 100 😃 Thank You so much!

Location, very close, approx 200 meters walking to the chairlift from Hotel Rusu. The lady host is very polite and did everything to make sure we were happy. And she is a great cook. Clean rooms. The appartment we had was quite generous in space. Rich breakfast for a mountain cabin, plenty to choose from.
