Truly exceptional place to relax in nature. The hosts and other travellers were lovely. We enjoyed the wonderful cooking (fish soup, polenta & fried catfish) of Nicu’s wife and there’s also a small kitchen for guests to use. We don’t have the right skill set, but other guests were buying fish straight off the local fishermen who stopped at the boat. We decided to extend our stay as we realised that three nights weren’t enough and the hosts made it happen even though they were fully booked by shuffling their room plan around. We took a boat tour (Leta - Sulina, whole day) to explore the area (nice company but due to music playing not ideal for bird lovers) and another sunset birdwatching tour of three hours leaving from Murighiol that rounded off our trip perfectly. All in all a magical place to experience at least once in a lifetime!

Harbour town, village really, right on the river/delta so the location could not have been better but Mahmudia itself felt run-down. In hindsight I would stay in nearby Tulcea and make a short journey out to the delta for a boat trip. The danube delta reserve is out of this world if you like bird watching..and frogs, snakes etc!
There's also a restaurant/hotel called casa tea on the waterfront which is reasonably priced and does great food. If you're going to hang out anywhere in Mahmudia, this is probably the best place.

Excellent location, very clean room, family oriantated with water slides, swimming pools and play area, we strongly recommend it. Food was very tasty and the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Boat trips with different destinations are available to explore the Danube Delta.

We have just spent 2 nights at Orizont Mahmudia, a place with an authentic feel and very hospitable, the location was excellent, very close to the the road and walking distance to the Danube, the room was was very clean, air condition, very good WiFi. The play area, pools and water slides were great fun for the kids, keeping them entertained. The restaurant was clean, food was delicious , the staff were friendly and helpful. The owner and administrative staff were available all the time to answer requests and queries. You can take a boat trip to the Delta, different routs available ( life vests included) to see the beauty and the wilderness of the delta.
We highly recommend this place and we will definitely return.
Beautiful experience. Clean rooms, spacious garden, local food made from scratch in the house from fish. The place is owned and run by husband and wife. It was a relaxing holiday.
They offer a tasty continental breakfast and an evening meal. The rooms have toiletries towels. Everything is nice and tidy.
The staff was nice, she helped us with the organization of a trip to the Danube Delta. Breakfast was varied, like a hotel classic. We had two rooms, one had a balcony. The location of the accommodation is great, close to a shop, pub, pharmacy, ATM
I appreciate the staff and their service. They went above and beyond to answer in a positive matter to every question or concern I had. Mariana, the lady at the reception desk was simply amazing and courteous!
