The room was beautifully decorated and the beds were very comfortable, but since the window insulation was a bit outdated, the noisy street was quite audible. The breakfast was arranged very nicely, and a table was set for us at the specified time.

Hunedoara city was a very pleasant surprise. The city is very clean and orderly. It can be clearly seen that the city is very well taken care of. Congrats to everyone involved in this process which surely takes a lot of work and determination. Most of the buildings private as well as official were painted nicely. The roads had the tarmac in good condition and new streets seem to be buiilded as well. The turistic sites were also nicely repaired and restored.

We only stayed one night on our way home to Hungary, therefory only visited the Corvin Castle, which is a marvellois building, but the exhibition inside is not that spectacular. Most of the information is in 4 languages (Romanian, English, German and Hungarian), which is a very positive surprise compared to other locations we visited. Two hours were enougj for the whole site.

Depending on your schedule and how much time you want to...
Depending on your schedule and how much time you want to spend in the area, a quick detour into Hunedoara for three to four hours might make more sense than staying there overnight. Having said that, there is a lot of construction going on in the area and we were probably a bit cut off from other things that might have normally been of interest. The Castle is a must see, however. Truly breathtaking. There's also a fun (yes, fun) Torture Museum full of wax figures across from the Castle. This was the last stop on our trip after stays in Bucharest, Brasov, and Sighisoara. It was the only place that I didn't wish we had more time in. I don't regret driving out to see the Castle, but it would have been better to make it a shorter stop before continuing on to Sibiu for the night.

Corvin Castle was absolutely stunning.
Corvin Castle was absolutely stunning. One of the best castles I've ever seen throughout Europe. Hotel Astoria had all the amenities, and more. The best room, a relaxing hot tub, and the breakfast was incredible. This was the BEST hotel during our Romanian trip. I was very pleased overall with the hotel accommodation.

Hunedoara is a wonderful city with many interesting things to experience. Corwin Castle is the most beautiful castle I have ever seen. There is a museum of small cars and trains that is not only interesting for children, but also for adults. Not far from the city, about 50 km, is the Clocota waterfall, which should not be missed.

It's a nice city, but small.
It's a nice city, but small. The Castle is nice to visit but it doesn't take much time to visit it. It is nice but not breathtaking. The hotel and the city itself were pretty empty except for the locals, I guess due to COVID-19. I came from Cluj, but a day trip would have been enough to see the city and the castle.
Consider visiting Deva and Castle too if you are staying in Huneodara for a night or so.
- very clean room and interior, even the hallway spotless.
- working ac and plenty of windows and natural light.
- very comfortable beds and clean, fresh smelling sheets.
- clean white towels and all the necessary toiletries.
- large bathtub.
- lots of space inside the room.
- free parking in front of the property.
- walking distance from plenty of restaurants and shops in the area.
- located in a quiet area
Overall, no real downsides considering the price and quality of the services being offered. The place is more of a hotel than a hostel.
The hotel is new and extremely clean! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with this much attention to cleanliness! The rooms are spacious enough, nicely furnished, fully equipped and the view is spectacular, no matter which room you book. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, they are always eager to help, with a smile on their faces. The spa area is not that big, but very clean and comfortable, the pool had a good temperature and wasn’t very crowded.
The staff is amazing, I had lost my jacket on the bus in Deva(I didn't know I had to get out for another bus to Hunedoara) and they called the bus driver. The receptionist manager, Mrs. Blandu, collected the jacket, which I could pick up at the reception. Forever grateful for their service. Breakfast was nice and the rooms itself were a bit outdated, but clean and neat. Location is great as well and a beautiful church next door that you should visit.
Felt very safe, the beautiful castle was right above us and the spires were visible from our balcony. Sparkling clean with cold drinks and a lovely shower. Best of all, Lavinia from the staff was so kind to us and answered all our foolish questions. Thank you Lavinia. We would certainly return
The facilities of room, the washbasin and the shower are very interesting, the bottle of wine was excellent, much need after a long drive, the restaurant is a must if you visit Hunedoara. Corvin Castle is at a walking distance, and so is Valentin Banciu Museum of Trains
We had a very modern room with quite air conditioning and a nice shower. The location is perfect to visit the Hunedoara castle and there are some really good restaurants nearby. The personell is very friendly and helpful. I can definately recommend this accomodation.
Nice room, lots of space, quite room with a bit of medieval air. The interior garden is so nice, also the playground. The food at the restaurant is so good, the size of the dishes is impressive. I loved the breakfast.
Thank you for a lovely stay in Hunedoara!
Attention to details, practical use of the space in the rooms and facilities around the hotel, pool, restaurant, patio to separate events, fireplace in the garden and so in. Design is effortless and the personnel caring and very friendly.
Cute and clean hotel close to the Corvini Castle. Receptionist very friendly, big and clean room with all the necessary amenities. The food in the hotel restaurant was super delicious and the waiter was really professional and friendly
The apartment has a good location, was very clean, and had everything that we needed. The host was very nice, and even if it was self checking, she was helpful. We are definitely coming back if we get to Hunedoara again.
The hotel is very beautiful and clean. We booked a room with the view on Corvin Castle and it was amazing. Staff was very nice as well. We can completely recommend to stay there!
