I loved how the staff were so accommodating and welcoming. I enjoyed the cute cat in the yard. He could be a greeter. This is a small family business. The location is 3 minutes away from a grocery market and about a 15 minute walk away from the city center, plus it's in a quiet area. This is the kind of family business where you can sit and have a friendly conversation with staff and guests.

On our way to the magnificent Transfăgărășan highway, we looked for accommodation in a reasonable distance from the North-to-South starting point. Some 30 kilometers away we stumbled over this charming hotel in Făgăraş. It offers lots of personality, caring individual service, and excellent price/quality-ration. Our room faced the picturesque square and was creatively decorated. It had a fridge and a small (free) selection of water, sweets, and nuts. The air-conditioning was effective, and the bed offered excellent sleeping quality. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations and gave us a perfect start of the day. Overall, this nice little hotel surprised us in the most positive sense.
• PS: The hotel is named after watchmaker Eugen Hintz, a German engineer, entomologist, and explorer (1868-1932), who had his workshop in the building that now houses Casa Hintz.
• PPS: Just next door you will find the Bricks Brasserie which is operated by Casa Hintz – a nice and easy add-on if you arrive late and look for an easy, fast, and good meal. There are also many other dining options on the square – a one-minute walk away.
Located 42 km from Rupea Citadel, 44 km from Viscri Fortified Church and 29 km from Dragus Adventure Park, Casa Drumețului provides accommodation set in Făgăraş.
The citadel is very well preserved. It has a beautiful collection of the historical artéfacts.
Casa Embacher is a very good place for dining. Food is very tasty, served in an artistical way(plates are coming decorated). Any menu choice is exceptional. Portions are big. Location beautiful.
A good place to stay is Sada. Placed in the city center. Beautifully arranged in the inside. Personnel very attentive. Place very comfortable.
Fagarasi is a good place to visit Sâmbaăta de Sus, Drăguș skiing slope, Sibiu or even Sighisoara.

A rather small town with a lot to offer: the castle and the churches, good restaurants and bars, the nearby mountains, including the highest peak in Romania (Moldoveanu: 2543 m). When coming please do not omit: the Sambata de Sus monastery (a landmark for the Romanian Orthodoxy), the Albota fishery and, in Porumbacu de Sus, the stylish troglodyte mud castle. On both ends you'll have, within a 50 miles distance, Brasov and Sibiu respectively.

It's my native town: there are nice spots to see and the citadel is definitely worth visiting. Consider a trip to the Brancoveanu Monastery, located in Sambata de Sus, approx. 13 km towards Sibiu, then turn left for more 7 kms. If you are fond of trekking, the trail running along the Sambata river will take you up in the mountains, to the Sambata Chalet (approx. 5 hours). Beware of the bears! They beg for food but they are not friendly. (This is a general warning for the mountainous regions of Transylvania.)
We have truly enjoyed our stay in Fagaras. This has been one of the cleanest places we have stayed in. Exceptional communication and the host went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect stay. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed. Centrally located, short distance to center city, restaurants and key attractions. We strongly recommend this place and would consider coming back any time we travel to Fagaras. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay!
The rooms were cozy and clean. There are a lot of restaurants and other services, such as laundry, near the hotel. Breakfast was great, and their coffee is good. Most importantly, the staff was beyond accommodating. The receptionist, Diana, was so friendly, kind, and helpful. I also bumped into the owner, and she always had a smile on her face. I highly recommend anyone staying in Fagaras to stay at Casa Hintz.
Very kind and friendly host. The house looked impeccable, very warm and super comfy. We found everything we could possibly need for our staying from coffee to laudry liquid and every kitchen dish needed.
The apartment it’s very close to the center with a very easy access to basically everywhere you want to go.
I highly recommend this place which is probably way better than any hotel in this city!!
Excellent place for family with kids. Quiet area, ground floor, good playground at the backyard, cartoons on TV, clean (except the floor), comfort. Free parking place, a lot of trees, safety walking zone, friendly host. The apartment is close to: the Fagaras Castle, big city playground, a lot of cafes, square and supermarket (10 minutes walking).
Very good location close to the city center of Fagaras, on a quiet street and near traditional villages. Very clean, the private bathroom was spotless. The bed was very confortable and spatious. The price was good and the cancelation policy was very flexible, which is good to have in these strange times.
This was an amazing find in the middle of Romania. Alin at reception was super helpful and thoughtful to explain about the hotel. The rooms are huge, with high ceilings, large walk-in shower and incredibly clean. A great choice if you are in the area!! Also VERY reasonably priced.
Location, calm atmosphere right in the town centre next to the Fortress.
Elena is an exceptional dedicated and helpful host going the extra mile to have everything set so her guests can feel like at home and enjoy their stays in Romania / Fagaras area.
Hotel is quite good, location is not bad - straight on the main street, parking is a bit of an issue.
The room was on the backside of the hotel, and nice and quiet.
Breakfast was ok, coffee was really good (espresso) but at an additional cost.
Easy to receive the keys thanks to the neighbor
Appartment is perfect for one stay night as it has everything and close to center of Fagaras
Quiet area to rest after the trip in transfagarasan and before going back to Bucharest
Extremely clean and superb location- quiet and only a short walk from the castle. We travelled with a 5 and 6 year old and the hotel was very comfortable for families. Loved it. Great location too.

The location it's just perfect, near Fagaras citadel . Hosts are very nice and welcoming. The house it's very clean and comfy.
