Great quiet location in the middle of the forest, only 1km from the main road. Clean rooms, recently renovated. The staff was extremely attentive and nice.. The products offered for breakfast were not very varied, but very very good. The terrace is amazing, we spent a very nice evening over a bottle of wine and a platter of local cheese.

Where should I start…? 😊
We came to Romania for a one week road trip. From Bucharest it took us almost 3 hours to reach the property.
Once we arrived our jaw dropped when we witnessed the beauty of the location. Despite getting hyped in our ascension on the road seeing the mighty mountains, Vidraru dam and a couple of entertaining bears on the side of the road we still got pleasantly impressed by the view!
We booked one night but it took us only 5 minutes to decide that we need to stay at least two days there.
“Ishi” ( I hope that I don’t twist her name😊) made sure that we have everything we need upon arrival and she was extremely diplomatic and kind during the whole stay.
It was like a dream to be there especially that we had the whole resort for us and that made us feel like royalty. ( we arrived in the beginning of June)
The food was great and I was more than surprised by the traditional notes in every single dish we ordered.(keep in mind that my roots are Romanian and everything tasted like my grandmother cooked 😋)
Sadly none of the other places we stayed at in the rest of our road trip came close to even match Cabana Zimbru’s per total impression, hospitality and wellbeing.
Big thanks to Lulu and Teddy (the two dogs on the property) that were our “guardian angels” working day and night to keep an eye on everything that moves.

Great food in restaurants, very pleasant staff, clean and comfortable
It was the perfect location for a night on the Transfăgărășan. The hotel is a 15 minute drive away from the highest point of the road and Bâlea Lake. Our room had a view on a beautifull waterfall, which is a very relaxing sight to wake up too. Room had everything we needed and a good shower. Breakfast was simple but good, and the restaurant was decent and has a good variery of local dishes. Would recommend the Papanași and a shot of Pálinka for the cold mountain weather.
Overall great stay and would love to come back!
Perfect location - in the middle of Tranfagashan highway. We did the most difficult part of it in the first day, had a very pleasant stop in this hotel and then came back to Bucharest the next day. The room and the food were good. The hotel is located in a wonderful place, so the view is spectacular.
The location was very convenient for us, beautiful nature. Spacious room, nice balcony. Warm blankets and good heater. The kitchen was equipped with a fridge and a microwave.
There was space to park the car in front of the hotel.
Overall good value for money and good place to spend the night.
We were there at the very beginning of the season, the road had not yet been fully opened, the hotel was practically empty. Very polite staff, spacious and clean room with a beautiful view of the mountains. There was a safe in the room. Delicious breakfast and coffee. We had a great time!
Very nice stay in a nice place in the middle of Transfagarasan Road, we recommand do those who don't expect a "hotel quality" but are open to experience a stay in nice, cozy, warm place, the hosts live in the ground floor, the rooms for the guests are in 1st floor,
Best possible "soundtrack" from the streams surrounding the hotel. Very good breakfast, nice staff but not really proactive. Food at the restaurant was good but nothing to write home about.
Staff and location were extremely nice. Hotel was clean, room was clean, food service was quite good. Amenities were not excellent but not mandatory to have in such a great location.
Very well positioned hotel in the middle of Transfagarasan road, great views and great restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and good size.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent. There is a hidden waterfall crossing the hotel garden walking a little bit uno the mountains.
