A two to three night stay is about right for visiting the Christmas market. It is impressive! so many lights and displays throughout the pedestrianised area. The city is very clean. I think if litter is ever dropped, it's cleaned up within minutes. Nice to see the old, grand buildings being done up. There is only a few attractions though. park is also impressive! Art museum is about an hours tour (lovely former palace!).Easy and safe to walk around, plus Ubers from the airport is £6-£7. Airport is tiny, but very well run.

Very nice botanical garden, cochette old town in city center and nice historical tower and suspended bridge. The taxi driver was very helpful and explained like a guide the main placea to visit in Craiova and helped me to get just in time to the railway station.

If your visit by your company, there are plenty of expensive restaurants to visit. Manor, Bigben (especially for coctails), epoca for the meat, Nobel for the burger and duck leg. craft for ambiance. beergarden is nice.
transportation is easy with bolt. uber is kind a worse option than bolt. number of cars is less than bolt. bolt/uber are very cheap to use.
buildings are old and not renovated so looks ugly. city streets have too many cockroaches at night. city is green mainly. there are no good sightseeing places in the city. good for Ford Otosan visits though.

A number of small things are missing: wifi address, bedside table, bedside table, matches or lighter to light the stove in the kitchen, a closet for clothes and hangers, laptop table, chairs in the bedroom. All of these can be fixed very easily by the owner if he will pay a little more attention.

I never got into the center, but the bits of Craiova I...
I never got into the center, but the bits of Craiova I managed to see before I had to nap (!) were nice. I didn't walk into town from the apartment, but I am pretty sure that if you're not already super tired, as I was, you would find the walk perfectly fine.
Also, just look online for photos of the center. It's pretty, no? Which is why I stopped off there in the first place. Next time, I will make it a destination, not just a place in transit--and not tire myself out before I get there, pfffffft.

Craiova is a wonderful city, definitely worth visiting and staying. Lots of nice parks to enjoy and see, with wide open spaces.
I would recommend to find somewhere near the old center, as the city has a big and diverse offer, for staying (fitting every wallet, I would say). Please have attention with apartments, as I had a very bad surprise on another property in Craiova, where the owner did not take responsibility in the bad conditions offered).
Fortunately, and even with some other property owner keeping money for a service they did not offer(this is about Booking.com's policy with non refundable situations > do take care with these), I did overcome that fact, and enjoy the rest of my 4 day staying in Craiova, in Hotel Green House (if you are undecided, try this one).
Hotel Green House is excellently located, as you stay very close to the center, where( if you don't try the hotel's restaurant) you can find several places to eat and drink. I would recommend trying Curtea Berarilor Craiova restaurant (they have a great, tasty antricot de vită, among other things :).
Do take a day and visit Parcul Nicolae Romanescu, for wide natural place...I would say Craiova deserves a few days to enjoy, properly.
Train is a good option to arrive in the city, and if you stay in the old center, you can basically walk around to see everything.
We stayed during week time, not to many guests and so was quiet. The bed was comfortable, the towels and the bathrobes were like new. Sleepers, bath foam, candles, tea and coffee in the room.
Someone tried really hard to make the hotel look good, but maybe tired a little too much. The design is overwhelming and clearly missing an architect/designer's touch.
The food at the restaurant was good. The breakfast was preset, nothing fancy but good.
Our room was clean and it looked modern. The bathroom was a bit small but clean and OK for a one-night stay.
The lobby looked nice and chic with new year decorations and all although I personally didn't like the "really huge" horse statue.
There is a parking place in front of the car for about 10-15 cars and luckily, when we came back to our hotel at night, we parked in the last free spot.
The staff is very friendly and smiley. Rooms are big and very clean and breakfast is delicious. The hotel is close to the city center (around 10-15 min walk). In November and December (2022) in Craiova there is unique Christmas Market, which starting 10 min walk from hotel and it's perfect to visit during your stay. I really recommend for stay in Craiova.

The location - 3 minutes by foot to the main park and zoo of Craiova, large apartment with two dormitory with double-beds, kitchen-dining with all you need to cook, in an open space living room, bathroom with shower and sink, free-parking place on the property, all at a price of a single room at a hotel. The host very discrete.
The receptionist was superb. He went over & above his remit to help us with our vehicle problem. Our room was big & clean. I would use this hotel again and if your looking for value for money I think you will struggle to find better in Craivova!
The rooms were extremely clean, the beds are comfortable ,the shower was also really clean ,didnt use the mini fridge but it most likely worked , the lighting was amazing , all around a great hotel for the price and how the rooms looked 8/10

Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Parking was free and lots of spaces to choose from. Easy to walk into the Old City center and plenty of options to enjoy at the Hotel Bar.
They gave us a room in the hotel which is next to this one and which is new. The room was phenomenal, with a big smart TV, everything in full, I'm delighted! All recommendations.
