Lovely town with monumental historic buildings and an idylic riverside. Even more could be done with the Mures valley area in terms of eco tourism and leisure options, but hopefully that's all coming. What's more, the people in Arad (as inall of Transylvania, really) are lovely: calm, gentle, helpful, and warm.

Arad is a mid-size city in the west of Romania.
Arad is a mid-size city in the west of Romania. The longer the more, Western influences become more and more visible. A wide variety of Western banking and insurance companies, foodstores that cater to almost every wish, car dealers from Skoda to Jaguar, excellent shopping of every kind - from the modern and exquisite Atrium Mall to the local "Jackson" market, excellent restaurants offering a wide-range of local and international food, and, last but definitely not least, a couple of nice sights, such as the town hall, the Biserica Franciscana, surrounded by the River Mures, and the massive "Holy Trinity" cathedral, a landmark in the town, are musts when stopping in Arad. During the warm days of summer, parks, promenades, open bars and restaurants invite you for a snack or a delicious dinner and if temperatures are getting too hot, you will find cooling at "The Strand" a huge public swimming pool. With the city further renovating old buildings, bringing them back to full glory and with busses and trams connecting the most important parts of town, getting around is easy and cheap ... and, Timisoara, the country's third biggest city, with its beautiful historical town, is just half an hour drive away.
Go, visit Arad, it is the perfect stop while travelling from Western Europe towards the Black Sea.

Oraș cu o moștenire istorică impresionanta, care eclipsează multe localități din țara. Zone istorice, statui, Turnul de apa, cafenele, restaurante, plimbări pe malul Mureșului. The Beauty of the city is in the eyes of the beholder. Are un potențial deosebit, dar mai are de parcurs un drum foarte lung.
Overall it feels like there is so much love put into all the details and it just feels like at home. They do much more than you could get away with for a three star hotel.
Incredibly nice staff, everything is clean,
super friendly cleaning ladies, everything is folded and arranged in a very cute way. Great view, the hotel is located right at the river banks, I got to wake up with the prettiest sunrises.
The flooring is super nice and always feels warm. The restaurant is amazing as well. I wish them all the best!
The hotel is what you expect from the best western chain. Nothing too fancy (updated post-communist hotel), but the room is comfortable and clean. The location is perfect for exploring Arad center on foot. The generous and guarded parking is a big plus and breakfast buffet was sufficient with the possibility to sit outside. No traffic noise whatsoever, as the hotel is tucked away from the streets.
Nothing to like at this property. .What you pay is what you get.
From top to bottom was an awful experience.I had to beg for several times for a blanket and a pillow. At the end a recived only the pillow. Some turists made a lot a noises, shouting and screaming at 1 in the night. No staff looks interested to solve the problem. I leaved the hotel with a night before .
We only stayed one night as we were transiting Arad. This hotel is perfect for such situation. It offers great value for money. The rooms are pretty big and the beds are pretty comfy. The included breakfast is generous and varied. This the second time we've stayed there and we'll definitely return.
The staff was very nice and waited for us even if we arrived very late in the night. They are very polite and kind. The hotel is very clean and smells good despite the fact it is an old hotel. In the morning we had coffee and continued our travel. It is a perfect hotel for transit.
This hotel exceeded my expectation. I thought it would be like all the other places I’ve stayed at in Romania, but this place made me feel like I was in a palace. The bathrooms are spectacular! The decor is so nice and the facilities are wonderful.
Wonderful design combines industrial style with natural elements, which gives a warm and cozy atmosphere. We have to mention the sparkling clean and spacious room with a very comfortable bed.
Really one of the best hotels in Romania.
Great staff and a beautiful hotel. We stayed three nights and will definitely be staying there again. It is an exceptional and zen place, with great food at the restaurant and the best staff. We felt very welcome there!
Everything was squeaky clean and perfect. Much better than a 5* hotel. It had everything what you need and more. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Will come again
Very nice hotel close to the city center. Very good breakfast (buffet), perfect coffee (professional coffee machine). The room was very clean, well refurbished and looked new.
Nice and quiet place. Clean and good value for money. Handy for a stopover on a long drive to western Europe. If I ever drive west again I will use the hotel again.
