Just perfect. The host welcomed us late at night and gave us some good tips. He also left us a bag of fruit, cereal, cheese, milk and a bottle of wine. The property is in an amazing location, facing the lake, clean and equipped with everything you need. Would definitely recommend,

Amazing scenery. Very few people so nice and peaceful. Spa facilities and pool are really really good. We enjoyed an amazing sunset at dinner. Rooms are clean and stylish. Staff is helpful and attentive.

The property was superb. Small, quiet and beautiful. The view from our room, the pool and the breakfast room was spectacular. The room was spacious and well appointed with a very comfy bed and a great shower. We had a lovely welcome from the staff and they were all very sweet throughout our stay. You can make your own meals in the room, but we ordered the room service each night- it was simple and delicious, not like your typical room service food! The included breakfast was superb. The hotel is perfectly placed for serenity but also a good launch pad for activities on that side of the Island. It was too cool -for us -to swim- but I do regret not using it! There is also a common room open to the pool with couches for reading and relaxing.
A note to guests. The road is narrow - like most on the Island-with some local traffic including a local bus! Honk as you go around the corners! When you get to the hotel sign go past it to the next street, turn right, then back up and go back towards the hotel in the opposite direction so you can easily get up the driveway- especially if you have not driven a manual car for some years!

Sometimes the photos on booking make the place look better than it actually is, with this place it's absolutely the other way around.
The pictures don't do this place justice, it is one amazing location and an amazing room with everything you want. It felt like a little paradise just for us and we almost didn't want to leave the nest!
The staff were amazing as well.

Amazing location in a calm place and yet everything was very close. Good wifi and comfy bed. Super helpful and friendly hosts. Capelas town has many good restaurants and a nice coast.

The villa is amazing, well kept traditional style, clean and comfortable, beds are really comfy, washing machine avaliable and drying area no need to carry too much clothes , only 5 minutes away close to supermarket and some traditional restaurants and only 1p minutes away from sete cidades.

An amazing place - the cabins are so well positioned for peace and privacy. Comfortable and well equipped. Bed was so comfortable - combined with the peace and the darkness, made for an excellent sleep. We loved cosying up with the fire of an evening and strolling around the lake. I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful landscape from the mountain . The lake is a good place.
Nothing is really done to allow the tourist on night in sete cidades.
There are 3 restaurants . Two of us are awful in price and quality . One of them on the border of the lake doesn’t like the tourist if I refer to the lack of laugh of the waiters.
One another restaurant has very very bad quality of food.
The third one is good but with only buffet all included proposal and not traditional family cooking as we encounter in the rest of the island.
It is better to come on the day and leave to go on another place for the night and for the restaurant.

Sete cidades is very beautiful for the naturelover and the families who want to discover quiet villagelife. It is nice to discover surroundings early and after the tourists who pass through come. You need to be aware that the weather is often or cloudy around the lakes or up, not so often blue sky. But, clouds pass quickly and the walks around have some stunning views when the sky opens.
In the village is a traditional bakery with fresh warm bread.

Of course I loved the view of the 2 lakes . We also met the milkman with his horse and cart and dog . The area around with the beaches was mesmerizing. We tried the thermal pool in Feraria in the ocean but it was cold!😳

The hosts at Lagoon House were wonderful Even gave us a tour of the town to show us where everything was and gave us info on hikes and where to eat. Also left a great gift basket and even fresh flowers.
The weather wasn't perfect but it didn't matter. The hike on the rim still gave us great views of the 2 lagoons and the hike around Lagoa Verde was lovely. There's a trail that goes around it even if the hosts tell you not to take it (they must have thought we were too old).

One of the all time spectacular drives on the planet is the ride in from Ponta Delgada into Sete Cidades. How often do you get to drive along the rim of a volcano? The lake is gorgeous, the hiking in the area is fabulous, and the town is quiet and very pretty.
Eat at the Tea House -- O Poejo -- for lunch, tea or early supper. It's fantastic.
