It is hard to overstate how dreamy a location this is to stay. You sleep on an extremely comfortable bed (I’d like to know what mattress it is!), listening to the sound of roaring awe-inspiring Atlantic waves. Very lovely hosts, who were extremely accommodating with me arriving early due to bus timetables, and then also gave me a lift to my next location, and also didn’t mind that I accidentally took a beach towel they lent me with me...! Restaurant right outside will be helpful to many - it finishes serving food at 8pm which is quite early for me, but there is another place to eat just a few mins walk away. Location is idyllic, and staying overnight in Seixal is really very special to experience its beauty outside of the peak tourist hours - I was able to swim in the natural pools entirely alone. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat - Mehdi and Rhonda have really set up an idyllic dream here. I wish I was still there!
This 18th century home was recently renovated, while still maintaining its unique features, such as the facade with traditional Portuguese tiled panels.

After reading previous reviews i was a bit afraid of what i was going to find once i arrived there. But the tent was pristine, and comfy. The kitchen was clean and the instructions to arrive there easy to follow. There is good signal in the area so i could comunicate with the owners without any problem

Wonderful hotel - the pictures do not reflect how lovely the amenities are! The room was a great size and overlooked the ocean, the rain shower was a real bonus, and the breakfast was great. Would highly recommend staying here if you are looking to spend some time in Sao Vicente

Apparently this has been a tourist destination for many years but the old building has been modernised inside. At least our room, the dining area and the reception area were modern. We didn't use the lift because stairs led directly to our room. The man in charge of the breakfast rates special mention. He was very helpful both at breakfast and helped find other staff when we were leaving. There was a gentle grey cat who supervised the car park. The accommodation was signposted from the town. You drive up into the hills then at the T-junction there was nothing so we asked at the cafe. You turn left at the junction and the right turn for the hotel is shown soon after.
Situated in Porto Moniz and only 3.1 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, Casa da Grota features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking.

It was the best stay we had. Everything was perfect 😍 The house are fully furnished, there were more than we expected, a lot details which we found at the house did our stay comfortable. Last but not least location is super, 10 min by car to the ocean. Highly recommend this place. I even will say the point should be 11 of 10.
Thanks that did our vacation so comfortable 💓

A beautiful town, with the wild Atlantic Ocean and beautiful nature. Great accommodation and great owners, very nice. A wonderful place for car trips to the Fanal forest, to the most beautiful levadas and to Porto Moniz to dig in the natural pools.

Seixal is gorgeous.
Seixal is gorgeous. We had family stay in resorts on the south side of the island and they regretted their decision after seeing Seixal. There were more clouds than in other locations on the island, but it was always comfortable, even in the middle of the night.

Seixal is a nice place to have a stay for 1-2 nights while planning to do a few hikes. It has a fabulous black sand beach and a few nice restaurants/bars and especially the natural pools in which you can swim.

The town is located near the ocean and near Fanal, the laurisilva forest. It's ideal place for relaxing. It's close to Porto Moniz (lava polls) and São Vicente (vulcanic caves), destinations ideal for one day trip. What we really enjoy was calm vibe of the town.
