The hotel is very pleasant, well preserved and restored. We are glad we stayed here. The location is very nice, particularly the reasonable amount of tourists compared to other over touristy places in Madeira. Santo da Serra is a real local town that we love, especially the restaurants and bars with local food. If lou like something fancier the golf club restaurant nearby is lovely with excellent food at reasonable prices and fantastic scenery. The weather was pleasantly cool. The hotel breakfast is wonderful and service was very good.
Ample and easy parking and easy access on foot to local treks and to by car to the airport and all Madeira locations.
Surrounded by nature, Enotel Golf Santo da Serra is 8 km from Machico, 20 km from Funchal and a 5-minute walk from Santo da Serra golf course.

Absolutely perfect! We didn't want to stay in the city but close to the airport so this was a perfect location! (Funchal 30min, Ponta de São Lourenço 20min, Seixal 1h distance with car) The view from the large terrace is amazing! Epic tropical hills everywhere. The house is up at the hills but very easily accessible with easy private parking. Large rooms, good beds, two bathrooms wich made our stay super comfortable. Everything is clean and nice! Especially compared to the price this was an unbelievably awesome place to stay. After a week it was sad to say goodby to our perfect Madeira home. :) I highly recommend and for sure gonna be back and stay here again.
This beach resort in Caniço, Madeira offers a gym, massage services and beauty treatments. It has 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 3 pools and panoramic sea views. Funchal’s centre is a 20-minute drive away.

Nice hotel with a beautiful location, with cool access to the water (natural platform on the rocks with a pool of seawater, with descents into the ocean) with the help of an elevator. The water was clear, warm and beautifully colored, there are a lot of beautiful fish swimming nearby (I advise you to have your own snorkeling gear, you can also rent nearby) and a lot of crabs crawling on the rocks. There is a restaurant and a bar overlooking the ocean. Good breakfast, buffet type. Very nice staff. We had a spacious room with a terrace and ocean view. Good internet. There is a free and paid parking lot nearby, very often filled with people coming from outside the hotel. There are small supermarkets and delicious restaurants within walking distance.
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in a tranquil area of Madeira, Vila Galé offers deluxe accommodation with a wellness centre. It features a pool, beauty treatments and nearby golf facilities.

Hotel is new and well equipped. Convenient location to both the airport (24h check in) and Funchal (either by other shuttle and/or local buses) - lovely view on the ocean and airplanes landing.
Excellent breakfast and helpful cordiality
Boasting 400 meters of private sea front, this 5-star property offers spacious rooms all with balcony and views of the Atlantic and the Deserted Islands.

I make a point when returning home to stay my last day at the Albatroz and enjoy a special treat!
Perched on a cliff at Ponta D’Oliveira, Galo Resort Hotel Galomar offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. It features direct sea access and indoor and outdoor pools.

if you like being somewhere rural and out of the way and quiet then it is a good place to stay. there only appeared to be 3 staff on duty at any one time. probably the best massage in the spa i have had. the pool is small but adequate and we never found it busy. if you are expecting a nice view from your bedroom, you won;t get it and the weather is colder than down on the coast!!!!

2nd time we stayed here, first time the weather was great everywhere, this time as the hotel is up in the mountains the weather was worse at the hotel then on other location on the island
It's a great spot if you want to avoid crowded places and are there for the hiking experience
If you want to go to the beaches and city its not recommended

Santo da Serra is a quiet region with a village, perfect for exploring the mountains and nature. There is a garden with a lot of trees, some animals and places to have a picnic or simply relax in the woods. There are also churches and restaurants with very good local food. If you enjoy playing golf, then the Santo da Serra Golf Course is one of the most beautiful I've seen, with its breath-taking scenery. There is also at least one pharmacy and mini-market near the church, along with a children's public playground (with slides, swings, and other toys for small children to enjoy). You are also only a few minutes (by car) away from the Santa Cruz aquapark, the Airport and Porto da Cruz.

A small cozy town among the mountains.
A small cozy town among the mountains. We came here on the way back from Porto Moniz. We felt the local flavor here more than in other tourist cities in Madeira. We liked it here! In the center of the city in front of the church a man bakes a very tasty bread - we advise you to buy this bread!

Santo da Serra provides very comfortable self catering accommodation in a very convenient location for walking. Staff very helpful, bed comfortable, shower amazing and lovely sitting out area. Excellent.
The hotel is really nice, off the beaten track just as we like it. A charming historical building with good modern facilities attached. The food was really good, and the staff helpful. Would definitely recommend it for those who like to be away from the busy towns, and like smaller hotels. Definitely need a hire car to take full advantage of exploring the island from this ideal base.
very peaceful and well equipped. very rustic and spacious. best bed so far in
Madeira! good shower too. it is also not far from the village where there is a good friendly restaurant that does traditional food and seemed very popular with the locals. there is a very authentic and historic market here which I believe is on a Sunday that looks like it is worth a visit.
The hotel is situated in beautiful, peaceful and tranquil gardens with excellent views of the surrounding hills, next to a footpath that goes to a levada. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very good buffet style breakfast was provided. It's only 20 minutes walk away from the village and bus stops to Funchal / Machico.
Small, quiet hotel, good facilities, clean and well equipped. The breakfast was varied and good quality. The location was great for us, as we wanted a quiet place to stay that was close to the main hikes and attractions in Madeira- 15 min from the airport, 30 min from Funchal.
