The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth. The property is only a 5-min drive from the airport. The view from our room was nice. The selection and variety for breakfast were good. Parking was available at the hotel for free.

Nice hotel with a beautiful location, with cool access to the water (natural platform on the rocks with a pool of seawater, with descents into the ocean) with the help of an elevator. The water was clear, warm and beautifully colored, there are a lot of beautiful fish swimming nearby (I advise you to have your own snorkeling gear, you can also rent nearby) and a lot of crabs crawling on the rocks. There is a restaurant and a bar overlooking the ocean. Good breakfast, buffet type. Very nice staff. We had a spacious room with a terrace and ocean view. Good internet. There is a free and paid parking lot nearby, very often filled with people coming from outside the hotel. There are small supermarkets and delicious restaurants within walking distance.

My stay was pleasant overall. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent – very convenient and close to main attractions. The interior is beautifully furnished, which gave the space a nice feel. Unfortunately, it wasn't as well-maintained as it could be, which slightly lowered the experience. With a bit more attention to upkeep, this could be a fantastic place. I’d rate it 3-4 stars.

We loved the hotel’s rural setting, high above Funchal, its old world luxury, and the quality of service offered by the staff. Best of all was the direct access to the extraordinary adjacent Palheiro garden. A very special hotel.
