I rarely take the time to write reviews but I had to make an exception after our lovely stay at Casa Albelo do Gerês. The unexploited little village with lots of friendly farm animals walking around freely makes this place an authentic rural experience that is hard to find these days. The hosts are so friendly and relaxed. The view is ridiculously beautiful.
The local food (the meat steak in particular) is superb. The surroundings offer wonderful hiking trails(visit the hidden waterfall!). The place is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway but we brought our 10 month old baby and she was also treated wonderfully by the owners and staff.
