Set in a quiet rural area, Casa da Quinta do Alves features a green garden and is in a typical granite building of northern Portugal. The Paços de Ferreira centre is an 8-minute drive away.

- The house is an old renoveted farm, in which probably cerimonies are done: there are big living rooms and dining rooms.
- The room is very large and clean, with a kingsize bed and a very big private bathroom inside.
- Manager is a very kind woman, who manages check in/out and breakfast.
- Breakfast is good: there are brioches with tea or caffé (or milk with chocolate) and cold mixed cuts with orange juice.
- There is a private parking in front of the house
- Porto is far 20 min by car; it is easy to go to the stadium to park the car and then take metro to go to downtown.
Offering a tennis court on site, Quinta do Passal features a health club with indoor and outdoor pool. It is located 18 km from Guimarães city centre and 9 km from Paços de Ferreira.

This charming hotel is elegantly decorated in a traditional 19th century style. Located in the historic Vale do Sousa region, it offers an outdoor pool and picturesque gardens.

When i saw this listing of Castle like Country house and underpriced , i decided to check it out only problem was to get there within chk in time of 10pm due to severe weather i would arrive around midnight, so called to ask and Paula said ok, so when i arrived this castle on top of the hill we were greeted by kind Mr Carlos and showed us to our Royal Room.
Next day at Nice breakfast we got chance to befriend Paula and got royal service with a Smile. Property is a hidden gem with 2 Angels Paula and Carlos to help you stay confortably at their country house and i wish i could stay longer. This property is located on a hill in old historic town in a very serene setting. would definately visit again..

People travel to Paços de Ferreira to buy furniture.
People travel to Paços de Ferreira to buy furniture. Presently, there is a significant number of furniture stores that have gone out of business. One can find a good variety of white lacquer and wood (they call it rustic) furniture. Some outlets sell beautiful inlaid wood furniture that rivals Italian manufacture in quality. Prices vary logically with quality. Most stores will manufacture to measure and are willing to modify designs and the types of woods used to match the buyers tastes. Expect completion of special orders in a couple of months. They will ship all over the world.

There is not a lot of places to eat or drink close by but with a car 5-10 minuets drive. I was there for work visiting factories nearby so it was fine for my needs. A car is recommended if you wish to visit tourist areas of interest.

This was such a lovely property in the country near Paços de Ferreira. The hostess, Paula, was wonderful and accomodating. She personally greeted us and showed us to our room. She also recommended a great local restaurant for us to have dinner. Our room and bed were very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We enjoyed hearing from Paula about the history of the property and her family. For the price we paid, the stay was an incredible value. We would definitely highly recommend this property.
The owner of the place is incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. She was available to do all she could to help out with transport, the room, breakfast etc. The room was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The breakfast was complimentary, and delicious! The hotel is in a very beautiful, rural part of Portugal and made for quite the lovely walk around sunset. The outdoor patio is a great place to meet other patrons, and overall I had a wonderful time here.
Hotel staff were amazing! Really friendly cozy environment. Hotel is in the middle of a farm house and it has a familiar environment to it. We had fresh food from the farm for breakfast and the room was lovely and wuiet. IF you are looking for an excape holidays it is the perfect place.
