The Albergaria was lovely. Spacious rooms. I had the impression when booking that we had a big balcony so that all three of us could enjoy. Pictures on the website not that clear. However, these are only for the rooms with three beds and we booked two double rooms. One did have a small balcony. It was however a nice place to stay opposite the beach... all commodities close by.
Set high on the Monte de Santa Luzia, Pousada de Viana do Castelo overlooks the town of Viana do Castelo. Rooms have panoramic views over the ocean or lush landscapes.
The 3-star Hotel Rali offers a free wellness centre with sauna, Turkish bath, hot tub and indoor pool. Viana do Castelo’s city centre is less than 5 minutes’ walk away.
Built in the 16th century, this beautifully restored manor offers individually styled rooms with minibars. In the historic Viana do Castelo, it features a piano bar and garden with a cascade.

The friendly, v helpful staff and super location, combined with the fine historic interiors. My room was huge, v comfortable. Breakfast was good. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Porto, Braga, and Viana do Castelo are part of the original route for the Camino of St James. The hotel offered an opportunity to have a little bit of luxury with a sea view locational and walk before my Camino. The facilities were excellent, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. There is a restaurant and bar where I enjoyed a drink and a delicious meal of sea bass. The staff were friendly and helpful, with information, directions and taxis. I had limited time in Viana do Castelo, and I had to maximise my time, and the hotel staff were very supportive in reminding the taxi to return for me. They also looked for and provided information for my onward travel to Baiona.
