It was ideally situated for our stay. It was a short walk to the town centre and harbour but also very close to station for our onward journey. All the staff were really friendly, professional and helpful. We had a suite on the ground floor which was ideal and it had excellent air conditioning! The breakfast was interesting and plentiful.

This hotel is a real gem in the central part of Olhao. It is 10 minutes on foot from the pier with lots of cafés and restaurants, the ferry and the Olhao Market. It is also an easy 10 minutes from the train station. Excellent buffet breakfast and outstandingly friendly and helpful front-office staff! Our room was small but cozy, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. The roof-top pool and bar with the gorgeous panorama is a real treat.

Cosy guesthouse in the heart of Olhão, not far from the ferry port with links to stunning beaches, like Armona, which looked like the Caribbean!! Gino made us feel like family, we felt very at home there. The breakfast was divine, it was freshly prepared and we had it on the roof, which is a fair climb but totally worth it for the view and ambiance. The bed and pillow were super comfy.

Its not too touristy and its not too lacking in amenities for all tastes and budgets , The railway stat is an ideal way to visit other Algarve towns which we did ...... try Olhao .... im glad we did .

Lovely town, close to Faro, Fuseta and Tavira which can easily be reached by train. 2 huge indoor markets, one for fish and one for fruit and veg. Olhao is a great place for catching the ferry to various islands. Beautiful beaches. Lots of boat trips and tours on offer. Superb fish and grill restaurants. We found Sao Gelados on our last night and wished we had found it sooner, absolutely delicious icecream and cheap too. Lots of cobbled streets and pavements which although quaint would not be so good for disabled people.

Lovely fishing town in the Rias Formosa.
Lovely fishing town in the Rias Formosa. Three islands create a barrier to the lagoon. Lovely wandering through winding streets. Loads of places to eat or just sit with a coffee and watch the world go by. 15 minutes from Faro but didn't feel close to the airport in terms of noise. Great fish and seafood - I like Portuguese cooking but it isnt very fancy - alot of grilled fish and grilled meat.

Really like Olhao - it's worth staying a few days not just for a day trip if you can manage/fit it in. Been 3 times now and first stayed here because it looked close enough on the map to Faro Airport with a train station, close to the sea but wasn't Albufeira.
You get everything here - the small touristy bit by the sea with the old sector/gentrified adjacent for the fresh fish-deprived like me and a flat, clean, friendly small local city to wander around in. And good local transport links to explore further.
Although the purpose of my 2nd and 3rd visits was to see if good dental treatment was affordable - a very necessary reason for many UK residents and I can confirm that it is a viable option for even just a check up and a filling -
my top pick visit in Olhao is the Museum as it was the first time I learned about the Carnation Revolution and the background to the voyage of the Bom Successo. There is a replica of this boat on the quay/promenade although it had gone for some reno work during my last visit.

I really did not see much of olhão since we arrived late at...
I really did not see much of olhão since we arrived late at night, but what we did see was quite charming small boats decorated the main streeets. restaurants closed strictly at 11pm so that was unfortunate for a summer touristy place. there was only one hamburger joint that was open late for us and it was quite good fortunately but we had been hoping for portuguese food. During the day the hotel folks sent us in the wrong directions so we ended up accidentlly on a sort of national road walking no where. We eventually drove to Fuzeta which was spectacular and not very far away to see Ria formosa, beautiful beaches and wide rivers with all sorts of boats and animals, fish. beautiful bay area. easy to take ferries there and to find the center
The pool area is incredibly well kept and tidy. It's like having your own private pool.
The rooms were huge, there was 8 of us and not once did we feel cramped.
Everything is clean, the staff are lovely and attentive. We genuinely have nothing bad at all to say about Villas Marim, this is far beyond a hotel.
Two nice restaurants next door (walking distance)
Aldi is a 6 minute drive away and Olhao is a 9 minute drive away. The lovely Tavira is 25 minute drive away.
Highly recommended staying here.
The position of this hotel its the real strenghth of the choice, you have everything at 10/15 min walking distance: supermarkets, bars and restaurants, the town old centre, Olhao fish market and the ferry docks.
Hotel is clean, staff is super friendly, young and professional. Clean and tidy.
The pool looks bigger in the pictures but who needs a pool when you can visit the beautiful beaches around?

Our stay was the best. The hotel and its staff are fantastic. A shiny new hotel our room was clean and bright. The rooftop pool was a quiet area to chill and sunbathe. Prices for the bar and snacks were very reasonable. Super friendly helpful staff always with a smile. Great location only a few minutes walk from the railway station or dock from where your sightseeing can begin. We will be back again that's for sure.
To give this hotel less than a 10 would be unworthy! We had an excellent one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms; very spacious and with an amazing view of the marina and Ria Formosa. Within easy walking distance to the Mercado, centre, shops and restaurants, even for seniors like us. Very friendly staff. Only 20 minutes from Faro airport.
Excellent Staff - The hotel is located very central to Olhao - Brilliant Vibe, The staff are very hard-working, attentive, knowledgeable. Brilliant restaurants and cafe's nearby, Olhao's Market is superb. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.
