The view from our room was amazing over the bay, and the corridor only had one other room so no noise late at night from others .Breakfast was good choice shame only one coffee machine working massive queues for a drink and took two more mornings to fix the broken machine . Table tennis table . Always review for mobility/disabled. Although there are lifts to rooms and sloped front entrance the dining area has at least 4 steps down so not wheelchair accessible as far as I could see. Staff helpful
Welcoming bottle Madeira wine and water on arrival with biscuits. Machico is a lovely town close to airport with bus station. We went everywhere by bus
Located halfway between Machico and Santa Cruz, this family-run hotel is just a short drive from Madeira Airport and impresses with stunning sea views.

Great location and view. Had everything you could need.
Machico is wonderful small town. It is a 20/25 minute taxi to Funchal. Machico has a lovely relaxing and welcoming feel. I was here for the Medieval Festival and WOW if you come to that you will love it. Otherwise Machico is a quieter place with a genuine Portugeuse feel mixing in with the friendly locals.

Machico is so much nicer to stay in than Funchal if you like the quieter more laid back vibe. The shops and restaurants are all good but particular praise must go to all the ladies in Pastelria O Gala who worked tirelessly to keep their customers happy at all times - the Pastel de Natas were simply gorgeous and at EUR1.00 each were superb value. Try O Secreta for a really nice evening meal and don't forget to try the bread in Paderia e Pastelaria Flor de Machico

The apartment was spacious and very comfortable.
The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The location was great ... within walking distance to the beach and also to the village centre. It is also close to the airport.
The name of the apartment was not very clear. In the small print it has Edifico VIP Baie, but I was looking VIP Paradise Apartments.

A lovely town of just the right size, lively but still calm - it has a lot of good restaurants, various stores etc that make your stay comfier than one in a smaller town, without the crowds of a bigger city which can get overwhelming. Funchal is a short drive away, and it is also a great base for all the trips and hikes especially around the eastern part of the island.
And there is a sandy beach well protected from the waves, so almost everyday is a good day for a swim!

Great place for my vacation.
Great place for my vacation. Quiet town providing all you need - supermarkets, one sand and one rocky beach, starting point for hikes and runners trails. Public buses to east part of the island ad Funchal. Bus to the airport - 5min ride for 1,3 eur. Great!
Great location, near Machico, but as others have mentioned you really need a car. I would recommend this anyway as Madeira has so many stunning places. It’s a small space (think hotel room with a small kitchenette), but great for making coffee and breakfast. I actually liked the fact it overlooked the airport, really cool to see the planes taking off and they do not go late into the night. The cafe across the road is great and really handy. Views, like most of Madeira are beautiful.
This is a great place to stay! I highly recommend staying here when going to Machico. The communication with the host is really easy and he is very quick to respond. The location is super nice, in the middle of a cute neighborhood. It's close to the beach (a few minutes walk) supermarkets, bus station and cafes/restaurants. We really felt at home here and would have loved to stay longer if possible. The house had everything we needed (there is even an oven!) and is really clean.
Great guest house right in the middle of Machico, close to the beach. Great communal kitchen facilities and the room was comfy, clean, spacious and stylishly furnished - more like a hotel room, to be honest. Ruben, the host, is very friendly and super helpful - he was lovely to chat to and really made me feel at home, and also gave some good tips. Wifi very good too. And all for a very affordable price. Overall, a great stay!
Great location in Machico! Very clean with all that you need, including secure parking. Ana contacted us to let us know that we could check in early, which was really helpful. She also provided a welcome gift of wine and local cakes, as well at bathrobes and beach towels -some very nice touches. Two non-touristy cafes next door with good coffee and ponchas.
- Good location a short walk from Machico centre (bakery, supermarket, restaurants) overlooking the bay
- Large house with plenty of space for a family or group of friends, 2,5 bathrooms
- Terrace on the top floor makes for great vistas for breakfast and dinner
- Services like car rental offered by the owners very convenient at competitive rates
The host was really nice and welcoming. We received a glass of Madeira wine on arrival and taste of local fruits. I had a pleasant discussion with the host when watching football. His English is good. The accommodation was clean, kitchen is well equipped. There is a nice view from the terrace. The owner took us to the airport for 10 EUR.
Very central location, just a few minutes walk to bus station, two big supermarkets, the (small) beach. Well equipped kitchen including a washing machine. There is a fruit basket and a small bottle of wine supplied on arrival. The key is left in a safe box outside the front door. Machico is a good base for exploring the east of Madeira.
Exceptional value for money, and very large place especially for 1 person. Could house a family easily. Easy enough to reach from Madeira airport by car and to Sao Lourenco reserve the next morning. Proprietors provided all the information needed to find the property and get in.
Lovely spot in small Machico, much preferred over crazy Funchal (which we did visit for full day tour). Had super room with patio overlooking square. Great hosts, awesome breakfast. Really nice restaurants in area, Enjoyable waterfront walks. Room comfy enough.
The view from the room was excellent, you can see the waves in here them and leave the windows open and just keep cool that way. Staff is friendly and helpful, and they let me park my motorcycle outside in the vestibule of the hotel.
Great location to explore east side of the island.
Beautiful view from the balcony on a quiet street and steps away from the amazing viewpoint.
Close to Machico and all the great restaurants and beaches.
- really nice ambience
- excellent location especially for hiking
- accessible by public transport via Machico
- good concept
- Ruben, the manager, is full of know-how to best explore Madeira on foot
