The house is newly refurbished, to a high specification, very clean. The bed is comfy and towels great quality. You can park right outside, for free, and close to town but still quiet. The kitchen is large, as is the outside area - but it is shared with the other guests. The bedroom large, with a fantastic en-suite.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a motorcycle trip doing the Portugal ACT. It was convenient for this, and the location is very pretty at the end of a twisty road down to the riverside. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the reception was closed, and the listing had some very confusing instructions , which basically indicate that you can only check in from 3pm but that is when the staff go home? We walked across to the restaurant/bar opposite to find it was also closed and not opening that afternoon/ night. Our misfortune! We then noted the receptionist come out from the hotel so ran across to check in. She was very friendly but spoke no English. We checked in, the room was fine but no fresh water or kettle so we were unable effectively to get anything to eat or drink at the hotel. We could have ridden back up the road 5 miles to the nearest town/village to a cafe but were so tired we didn't bother. We ended up having a picnic dinner on our balcony with an avocado, some biscuits, and nuts that we had and drank the tap water. Be aware that if the cafe is closed, there is no food nearby. The breakfast the following day was good, although the machine coffee was pretty awful.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly, smiling girl who was very helpful. The room was exceptionally clean, modern and comfortable with a delightful outside sitting area set in the lush grounds of the Equestrian Centre. The choice at breakfast was very good and the food was eaten in a sunny glass conservatory. There was plenty of parking, (just up from the rooms and away from the road.) We highly recommend Vale De Ferreiros.
