Marina Club Lagos Resort, hotel in Lagos

Within sight of the marina, Marina Club Lagos Resort is just a short walk from Lagos’ historic centre and provides guests with luxurious accommodation close to Meia Praia Beach.

The room was quite large with a dining area and full kitchen. Bedroom was big with a large closet, big programmable safe and comfy beds. Staff were friendly and answered any questions we had. Our balcony overlooked the pool and was a nice view! Pool is cold but very refreshing when it gets so hot in Lagos! Walk into town in about 15 - 20 minutes. Large grocery store (Pingo Doce) super close by. Decent happy hour near the pool too.

FAQs about hotels in Lagos

History and Sandy Algarve Beaches

With a long and rich history, Lagos is nowadays a famous beach resort of the sunny Portuguese region of Algarve. Including wide sandy beaches and quiet coves enclosed by ochre cliffs, it also offers a lively city centre with one of the best mixes between history and modernity in the region.

King Henry the Navigator chose it as a base for his trips of discovery during the 15th century, and later on, it became the residence of the Algarve governors. The Old Town is circled by medieval walls, typical narrow streets, historic buildings and charming squares. B&B’s and hotels in Lagos’s historic centre allow you to enjoy these picturesque surroundings.

Apart from being an important centre for sailing, the city has amazing beaches, like Meia Praia or Praia da Dona Ana. Resorts and hotels on Lagos’ beaches are the perfect choice for sun lovers, while the hotels near the modern Lagos Marina are popular, as they are both close to the centre and the railway station.

The city is 90 km from Faro Airport, and 24 km from Portimão. Check out the Lagos hotels deals on Booking.com before travelling!

    Beautiful place.

Beautiful place. Lots to do, lots of beaches which are all lovely. Plenty of days out available and lots of boat trips ie, dolphin watching, kayaking. The Marina is a great place to sit and watch the world go by with good restaurants and bars. The town centre has a real mix of shops and again plenty of places to eat and drink.

Far too touristy with some base elements. Ok if you're young and carefree, but for the discerning visitor the brashness is too much. That said, I suspect that when the town is quieter, it's better qualities would stand out and be easier to discern.

Lagos is a beautiful old city with modern hotels and apartments outside the walled centre. There are plenty of beaches and experiences to be seen and a fabulous board walk on both Meia Praia and Camilo . Public transport is great with buses to most locations. The blue route links from Poto da Mos via Donna Anna to Meia Praia . There is an abundance of good quality restaurants , go for the more traditional small ones for authentic food. The marina has a good vibe and some nice bars serving food. The zoo is worth a visit and is on a bus route Ther is something for all ages in Lagos and the surrounding area

Lovely marina area with plenty of restaurants, the Lighthouse bar on the marina is good for food and reasonable prices. Old town has a large and varied choice of bars and restaurants. Good supermarkets. Easy to get around Ubers are cheaper than taxis. Seems to be a rise in the number of beggars mainly in the old town. Plenty of sea excursions available such as fishing, dolphin spotting and visiting caves.

Beautiful boutique hotel with the most amazing owners in the historic center of Lagos! Marek and Isabel have created a true oasis for their visitors! The rooms are comfortable and clean, their is an amazing rooftop area where you can relax that has beautiful views of the city and sea, and there is a nice shared kitchen. They are generous with their advice and follow up by sending you the locations via WhatsApp which is super helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful property!

This is a reasonably priced, clean, hotel located close to the beach and directly on one of the main tourist commercial areas that only allows pedestrian traffic. My room was clean and cozy with air conditioning, TV and comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious with great water pressure. Parking for my rent a car was close by and reasonably priced in a public parking garage. Breakfast is available for a nominal charge. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Lagos.

Carvi Beach Hotel was a great stay for the area, the only thing in hindsight would be that we probably would have shifted our 2 or 3 night stay away from this location to another one a bit further East. Don't get me wrong, we had a really good stay, and the roof top pool is pretty awesome, and there are some great beaches/cliffs/walks nearby. But after quickly going through Portimao and Carvoeiro...we'd probably have base camped there and then driven to Lagos for the day.

We really enjoyed our stay at Palmares. The hotel is at a beautiful location on the golf course with great ocean view, a few minutes drive to Lagos town center. The room is modern with top amenities, it also comes with a super king bed that is very comfortable. The balcony has great ocean view with Logas town in the back drop. All the staffs are very nice, breakfast is great as well. We wish we could stay longer, definitely stay here again if we come back to Algarve.

This property was serene! Located a short walk from the Old Town in Lagos, this property had exquisite gardens, multiple pools and a fantastic breakfast area for hotel guests. The receptionists were also very accommodating and were able to answer any questions that we had about beaches, restaurants, etc. Lastly, our room was very spacious and we even received a complimentary bottle of Rose on a arrival, setting the mood for a perfect romantic getaway.

The hotel is perfectly located, a few minutes from Lagos marina and a few minutes walk from the old town. Couldn’t be better! The hotel itself had a lovely, well maintained driveway, communal areas were nice and the our room was recently modernised and had a great bathroom. The rooms were extremely clean also. Breakfast was excellent and the staff throughout the hotel couldn’t have been more pleasant. The pool deck bar team were especially lovely.

Lovely property within easy walking distance of the core of Lagos. The rooftop, breakfast and staff/owners were all just off the charts wonderful. Joao gave us the best recommendations for how to spend our time and where to eat, and overall made sure we had everything we needed to soak in our time in the Algarve. Would never stay anywhere else when we are able to return to the area! Rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean.

The rooms are very spacious and bright. We had a room facing the marina. The views were great. The breakfast was the best of all European hotels we have stayed at. Imagine ... you can order steak and lamb chops for breakfast besides the usual eggs, bacon, and sausages. The location is very convenient. It's right across the marina for boat tours and the Europcar pickup location is less than 10 minutes of walk away.

There is a Mini supermarket around the corner too as well as Mini Golf which is ideal as a fun family activity. The Hotel also has Free Parking across the road which is very convenient. The Hotel has 2 great pools in which one is kids friendly & excellent GYM facilities as well as Game room which again is ideal for Families with kids.

The room was nice and big, pretty much as shown in the photos from the site. The hotel offers continental breakfast for free! The location is great, in the city centre of Lagos, you can go everywhere by foot! There are restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets all around! The train station is 15 minutes on foot and the marina, where you can book cruise trips, is at a distance of 10 minutes walking, which is convenient.

The hotel is Adults-only which was so nice. Sitting outside by the pool or in front of our room or in the very nice lounge area was a luxury and there was so quiet and calm. The staff so friendly and helpful. The two maids made it a memorable stay, in the best way possible. It sfelt very much like a tranquil oasis in the the midst of the Lagos tourist chaos.
