Was lovely big house, well equipped. Pool area was very quiet, hot tub took a couple of days to heat up, but was really nice when it did.
Had arrival basket of bread, jam, milk, biscuits, coffee and tea.
There was a washing machine to use complete with liquid to help ourselves to.
Had a private bathroom, although I had to walk past 2 bathrooms and upstairs to access mine, so allocation of bathrooms could have been better.

The staff was very nice with us, the room super comfortable and the spa very good as well.

At the start it seemed a good/nich hotel. However,over the week some of its queries became obvious. The main one for us was that when we had a query about the bill there were only 2 very young people at reception.We asked for a manager (midday Saturday) but was told that there was no manager until Monday. Have you ever been to a hotel where all the managers do not work during the weekend. I found it amazing and unbelievable. There were loads of other things, such as no one seemed to check whether the breakfast ingredients need replenishing, etc etc

Nice small town strategically situated in the middle of the Southern coast. 17 min drive from the Ponta Delgada airport. Lagoa has some amazing restaurants, small beach, even a volcanology museum that one must visit!

Lagoa is one of the best villages to spend your holidays in Sao Miguel, due to its central location in the island. In addition, it offers all needed services, such as restaurants, supermarkets or petrol stations.

To be honest, we hardly ventured into Lagoa itself, but...
To be honest, we hardly ventured into Lagoa itself, but stayed there as it's an excellent base for exploring São Miguel Island - you're on the south coast near Ponta Delgada, but close to the motorway that gets you over the mountains to the north coast in just 15 mins.
Lagoa itself seems like a nice quiet place and we'd happily stay again.

The Azore Islands are amazing, so much interesting geology and scenery. The outskirts of Lagoa are less built up than Ponte Delgarda and right in the heart of the Island so it doesn't take long to get anywhere.
Try also Pico Island, much less touristy but beautiful.
Take lots of Euros with you - many places don't take credit cards

People in Lagoa are so friendly and they are really available for everything!! I really loved that place and the nature and all the entire island of Sao Miguel!! Lagoa is really closed to Ponta Delgada, one of the biggest cities in Sao Miguel and close to the airport too. I strongly suggest to rent a car to visit all the places of the island and to be sure to enjoy them.
