We loved our three day stay here. Very professional and friendly staff with a delicious breakfast buffet. The view from our window overlooking the marina and the mountain on the Island of Pico was stunning. Appreciated the underground parking and easy access. Loved the first floor lounge allowing a quiet and comfortable location to read in the early morning so as not to disturb my sleeping wife. Beautiful sunrise there. Location was ideal for hiking to the beach and enjoying the local restaurants.

Very furnished common areas, everything clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very kind to let us leave the luggages untill evening, and then to allow us to stay in the same room after our ship was canceled.

The outdoor space was magic.
Outdoor shower for post beach/diving. And the hammock…
Horta offers so
Much. It’s a great point to start exploring the island as well as the neighboring island. The harbor is very special to anyone with an interest of boats. The harbor full of yachts on their way across the Atlantic.
The town has several great restaurants and watering holes. The many streets are fun to explore and the neighborhood offers great hiking.
Peter Sport Cafe is a must as well as a stroll in n the marina watching all the paintings made by boaters heading home to Europe

A wonderful hidden island for people who like the silence, the hiking and the mountains. Beware that the supermarkets have few things.
Azores are expensive to live, because of few available homes and the prices raise up.

Loved the old city...however, construction was taking place which made getting around by car a little confusing. Loved walking around the waterfront and seeing the famous marina as well as the artwork created by mariners. Shopping in the local stores was a good experience with prices that you don't feel taken advantage of. Shopping in the city's Mercado was also a nice experience. Trying new restaurants around the city was also a good experience. While there, rent a car...best way to get around as public transportation is not regular or abundant. Also, try to visit the neighboring island of Pico on the ferry and spend a few days there...lots to see.

Island more quiet than Sao Miguel, felt more centered around the sea. A good mix of sea and land. A few good walks along the shore or around a caldera or inland. Unusual landscapes. The roads are very good compared to Sao Miguel.

We have now visited Horta 13 times in eight years, and will continue to visit in coming months/years. For a small city in the middle of the North Atlantic, Horta has a very welcoming feel, and is an ideal base for people wanting to visit the central group of Azorean Islands.
It's easy to walk around, and the rest of the island of Faial is accessible through day tours, e.g. with Azores Experiences who we would highly recommend. There are whale and dolphin watching trips from March - October, together with walking tours, Caldeira descent (which requires a formal guide and cannot be done alone), and a visit to the volcano and interpretation centre at Capelinhos is a must.
There are a good number of excellent restaurants (Atletico, Medalhas, Genuino, Taberna do Pim, etc.) and the Oceanic bar and restaurant (their barbecue is superb) to try locally caught fish and local beef. For a good value breakfast or lunch, there are plenty of small cafes (e.g. Cafe Silva, behind Peter's Cafe) which offer great hospitality.
If the weather is good and you fancy a relaxing day, there is also the beach at Porto Pim, which is used regularly by visitors and locals alike.

The best of 3 islands I have visited during this trip: San MIguel, Pico and Horta.
Horta has good vibes, nature and is very alive and beautiful city and the island is pretty.
I went to Capelinos volcamo museum - is is very interesting volcanology museum. I I went to big CAldeira - Cabeco Gordo - it is also very beautiful.
I cook. I cook tasty (It is not just my opinion:). Usually I do not like hotel meal. I am a little evil snob when I speak about meals. But... Steaks, burgers, sandwiches, salads - absolutely all I ate was great. Yes there is more snacks than meals but it is tasty. Big confortable apartments, amazing ocean view, superb Owner (with the capital letter), a lot of scenic views near, about 20 min to Horta on foot. It is very local place. Islanders love it, and I can see why.
Filipa and Victorio were very helpful and welcoming. Victorio took the time to show us the apartment and the property. The property is big and very well maintained with great view of Pico with a roof top terrace. The apartment is clean and well decorated (on a modern stype), the 2 bedrooms have private bathrooms and that is very useful. The location is not far from Horta and very quiet. The Portuguese bread is a nice touch.
The room was clean and tidy, with a daily room cleaning service. The grounds were very nice as well; we really enjoyed the pool and gardens. A sauna and Turkish bath were available as well, but we didn't use these services. We were also able to get some laundry done for a small fee, which we really appreciated. It was easy to get in and out of the hotel with the room and gate keys provided.
Beautiful house and garden with a small pool, breakfast possible outside on the terrace, included local products like cheese from Sao Jorge, different sorts of bread, fresh Orange juice, egg variations on demand, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt...such a stunning and quiet place in a kind atmosphere, approx. 15-20 min walk to Horta Marina etc., located on a small hill.
The bedroom was so cozy and the kitchen was very well equipped. Everything was very clean. The location was also very good, right on the harbour. And the hotel managers elena and jerry gave me a very warm welcome, were always available to answer questions and gave me lots of good tips for Horta. I wish i could have stayed longer
Cosy, well equipped appartment in a very good location close to the sea promenade, marina and ferry to Pico. Friendly host. The interiors were fine as well as the kitchen. Free car park nearby. Padaria, minimarket and some restaurants within 3 minutes walk. Best solution for Horta stay.
A lovely home with many little supplies like coffee, sugar, napkins which are often not available. Marie was very helpful and the view over Horta was great. Highly recommend. A little hard to find, might want to use a nav app in addition to info provided.
Great location, comfortable rooms, full kitchen, charming. Has all your traveler needs and the nicest owners who instantly treat you like family. Recs for Horta, restaurants, tours? Elena’s got you covered. Thanks for a great time in Horta!
We had a great stay.
Despite some issues with the Booking.com reservation, the staff has been excellent and provide quick anser and fix the issue.
The hotel is wonderfully located.
And well decorated
All the staff is very nice and efficient
Very clean classic hotel with large rooms. Nice garden with swimming pool. Other activities such as billard, sauna, board games included. Breakfast was good. Kids welcomed
Close from the botanical garden and on the way to the caldeira.
Fantastic view to Horta marina and an incredible large terrace to our room. Breakfast was more than good and also nice a la carte restaurant. Close to the bars and restaurants but also quiet and relaxing.
Centrally located in Horta, a walk away from harbor and ferry terminal. Great views to Pico.
Most comfortable beds of the Açores.
No need to rent a car, you can take a guided Taxi Tour for 80 €
Great place to stay in Horta, very well located, clean and with good bedding. The place is family owned and the owners are really nice and helpfull! Would definetely recommend to go there!
The location of this charming apartment can not be beat. Located in the Porto Pim Bay Area of Horta is a perfect place to enjoy Horta and everything magical on Faial.
The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel was located near the harbor and many restaurants. The breakfast at the ground floor cafe was convenient and tasty.
