We think the hotel was a great choice, the staff were all really nice, the breakfast was better than places we have stayed at with a higher rating and we never heard any noise coming from other rooms. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Santa Maria or even thinking about going to Espinho.

Not much. The room smells like urine. I originally booked this hotel as it has a swimming pool. When we got there, the pool was closed, and no one bothered to let us know.

I stayed here on my way back to Porto airport. The hotel was great location. The room was quite spacious. The hotel has a lovely pool which I unfortunately didn't have time to use, but it looked lovely. I was travelling alone, but felt very safe and looked after.

I instantly loved Solar Sao Joao for the welcome. I was wet from walking in the rain all day and with tired feet, a happy welcome was exactly what I needed and the shower, the best temperature and pressure combined on the camino so far! Plenty of towels, a basin in my room and a nice warm blanket to pull up over my knees was a lovely touch.
I imagine on a fine day the area would be very good for entertainment
