The property was central, the staff were lovely, it was clean. It would have been brilliant in its heyday, but is now rather tired looking.
We loved that our room looked out over gushing water, great sound.
This apartment hotel is located in the heart of the Peneda Geres National Park in Costa Verde. It offers self-catering accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool and an à la carte restaurant.

It was clean and felt bigger than on the pictures.
Even though a bit far from the accommodation, the pool was great.
The hotel parking is an extra but a good deal.
The bedrooms, a terrace and the breakfast room at Hotel Eco Salvador offer panoramic views of the surrounding Cávado River and hills. Offering an outdoor pool, it is 5 minutes’ walk from a small...

We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Central Jardim. The staff and front Manager were very helpful with their advice throughout our stay.

Adelaide Hotel- Geres
A maze of buildings and staircases, hotel on a narrow road steep hill. Good amount of parking. Room and bathroom large with balcony and clean. Breakfast good, scrambled eggs available. Geres town is only a 5 minute walk but could be tricky as steep hill and stairs. Overall the town was slightly disappointing, although there are a number of restaurants some were closed on certain days. Very few shops and not too much going on, obviously this was out of season so maybe different at other times of year. Swimming pool is 15 minute walk but down the hill into town and uphill to reach it, can take car instead.

Breakfast was the best... the silent was good too.

Da localização e do facto de dispor de estacionamento.
We came on the bus from Braga. Actually, there was a one-day strike and we took a taxi. We took the bus back. The bus runs infrequently and you have to buy the ticket on the bus. Once in Geres, if you don't have a car, you can find out about the trails from the tourist info center so you can get into the park. We also opted for a 4 hr tour with Carlos at Lobos Tours and it was worth the $40 to see all the parts of the park and some of the small villages and the waterfalls. He was born and raised there and has alot of knowledge of the area. One bummer of the visit was the Parque de Termas is only open intermittently and was closed when we were there. Apparently this is a problem. If you want a hot spring dip, you need to go to the Spanish border. Not far away, but need transport. It is a nice village overall.

Geres is a unique place where you can see nature in its best, there are so many attractions even on low-session, and plenty of native restaurants along all routes, i have been there for 5/6 years in a row and I am still impressed with the place as you can see my own photographs attached. Rio Caldo on the lower edge of the park is stunning.
Rio Caldo on the lower edge of the park is stunning. Views are amazing. There are plenty of bars and cafes, and a small well stocked supermarket. It has a good public transport network. We hired a kayak twice during our stay with AML.

Don't try to go to Geres for a long weekend, it's not enough time but if that's all you have, then don't miss it! Amazing hiking and quaint villages all around. We chased waterfalls for 3 days and loved it.
The Sao Bento da Porta Aberta Sanctuary was so unique and loved the juxtaposition of the old and new churches. Stunning tiles in the new museum.
We also had a quick stop at the Vilarinho das Furnas dam. We love dams but still cool to see. A short easy walk from the dam is a cute waterfall and a perfect spot for a picnic.
Keep your eyes peeled for wild horses and shepherds with their cows and goats.
The town of Geres itself is small but I really enjoyed a quick stroll around town and found some great artisan shops to get souvenirs.

We had a fantastic time in Geres.
We had a fantastic time in Geres. The staff at Baltazar Hotel were extremely helpful and kind- especially Orlando. We had a challenging and beautiful hike and spent one afternoon with a guide who showed us so much of the park. The food and generosity of the Baltazar staff was wonderful. We would come back for a longer stay next time and recommend to anyone.

Very nice picturesque location, beautiful lake at the bottom...
Very nice picturesque location, beautiful lake at the bottom of the surrounding mountains near the hotel. Hotel was very clean, and big. I was pleasantly surprised. Polite man at the reception when we got there, very attentive and prompt when requests were made. My only advise to anyone checking out in the early hours, e.g. around 03.30am is to allow extra time because there may not be anyone readily available as they will be carrying out other tasks (as the polite lady mentioned when the bell at reception wasnt attended to with the usual promptness). Other than that, extremely wonderful stay
The location is excellent with an amazing view, its a short walk into the main village of Gerês, which was perfect for me. The food at the hotel was good, traditional and with large portions it's great value for money plus with the local wine for 1.50€ you can't really go wrong. Catarina is the most helpful and hard working member of staff and I really appreciated the efforts she went to and made me feel welcome.
The room was very comfortable too and a good size. I would stay here again for sure.
it’s the second consecutive year that our family spends holidays in quinta do caneiro and everybody, big and small, absolutely loves it. the house is beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped. the surroundings are breathtaking, beautiful greenery, large outdoor space and the river just a few meters away. it’s an idilic spot for a family looking to relax, have privacy and enjoy nature.
The hotel is a family run and it has an old fashion and homey feel. The owner and the stuff are very kind and accommodating! The facilities are clean and well maintained. It's also very peaceful and quiet.
Highly highly recommend the restaurant! The meals are delicious and prepared with love and have a home cooked taste.
Will be back for sure!
Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good, although not anything particularly special. Location is very nice, free parking for guests available. Room was not very big, but manageable, with space to store luggage and a nice balcony. Very big bathroom and shower.
Nation Geres is more like as hostel, but with private bathroom and big terraces. Breakfest is served, but in evening time you can prepare by yourself in common kitcen. Very good locatin fir walking tours and also for traveling with car. Nice restaurant is close to hotel.
The view from the room was amazing and the place itself was really clean and cozy. It has a great location to explore Geres and surrounding areas by car. Breakfast was simple but good, and the staff was nice and always ready to help you. Would definetly recommend!
The location was nice. Gerês is really beautiful. We weren't able to reach the fluvial beach from Selina as there were some trees down but The overall views were nice, and the pool looked clean. They had a cool area for kids and to play games + watch movies.
A great, cosy getaway from the city. Beautifully located overlooking Geres with many rooms, garden and balcony. We received a nice and warm welcome by Cecilia and as icing on the cake she even had lit up the cosy fireplace before we got there.
Excellent accommodation, probably one of the best we have stayed in and we travel a lot in Spain and Portugal. The facilities were really good and outside areas were amazing with excellent views. Very comfortable , could not fault it at all
This is the second time that we have stayed at Hotel Apartamentos Geres Ribeiro and it says it all! The facilities are ideal for what we were looking for. It is not an exceptional place but it ticks all the boxes. Planning to return again!
A very nice and clean hotel. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the village and mountains. The restaurant has beautiful view as well. Breakfast was not amazing, but good. Eggs, bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruits, pastry, jam.
Spacious and nicely decorated house, great for a stay with family and/or friends. The pool, barbecue and tennis court are an absolute plus! Everything was super clean. Gerês has good restaurants and a lot of water sports to offer.
Overall clean and very spacious room. The balcony had a great view to the Basilica. The staff was very kind. Good breakfast. Perfect stay for visiting São Bento da Porta Aberta and Gerês.
Super attentive hosts. Spectacular poolside and terrace views. Super clean. Mostly new finishes. Close to Geres National Park and town. Bonus: Tour guide lives next door
Beautiful views and lots of space. The patio was perfect and had a basketball court. The host (Pedro) was so kind and helpful with suggestions and quick to respond.
